I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

At least it seems like we may have identified a common thread to some of the unexpected rejections, it is related to the Note 4. Sounds like Spectrum and Assurant accepted the trade in but when they receive it they have issue processing it in the system and come up with some nonsense rejection reason.
I think so too. Someone should realize that this is not our fault and correct. And it's a moot point anyway because what are they doing to do with these old phones anyway? They show the Note 3 as acceptable as well.

I did just file a BBB complaint but maybe I'll do one for the AG.

In my mind, this is entirely bait and switch. Sell you a $1400 phone and now your credit disappears after your return window is closed. I know none of it is on purpose, but their response is so upsetting. Spectrum just refers to Assurant as "they" as if they don't choose who they do business with. Scapegoat 101 and it's maddening. I wouldn't be so upset if the reasons were VALID, but no one can tell me why it's rejected and they all just make stuff up - damaged, screen, IMEI, you owe money. They just tell you whatever to get you off the phone.

You motivated me. Just filed with both the FTC and FCC. AG might be next. It's dubious that the return window is much shorter than the trade-in valuation. This should be extended at best.

It is clear cheating with the customer and not to hear the customer. So it is indirect civil fraud to specific customers.

Totally, they should extend the return deadline until they give a trade in decision. I am stuck with an unopened s24, that spectrum support do not want to get as a return. I kept waiting for my trade-in decision.

I understand the ask but wouldn't think refunds are state specific.

I ask because last time when i bought S23, they wouldn't unlock phone (for NC state) and had to do call customer care too many times, till i found one willing to unlock.

My trade in shows delivered since 2/15 via usps tracking but didn't get updates from assurant. Is an email from assurant the only way to check tradein status or is there another way or a portal we can find out status from?

The link in the original e-mail that you clicked to get to the shipping label is the status page.

I don't know if it was worth it but I did that yesterday. I love the pen option. I think the camera might be worth it but haven't used much yet. I hope the 256 gb will be enough. I think it will.
I figure since the S24 Ultra will likely have far better trade in value in the future, I would be shooting myself in the foot if I don't upgrade (mainly due to how cheap it would be to do so).

Definitely conflicted though as I really like the S24+ and the extra storage makes the choice more difficult.

If they just delivered it on 2/15 then probably worth giving them a few more days, especially with the weekend/holiday and recent congestion. Some people have waited over a week but I think they are catching up because others have reported 1-2 days.

I'm really liking this phone and learning how to use the pen. It's awesome and well worth the upgrade.

Do anyone have assurant tradein support email or phone? They reduced the tradein offer saying it received late even though their website says it received 1day earlier.
