OnePlus themselves has told people recycle it or keep it if your sentimental they could care less there's no trade in evaluation whatsoever. They even call it a $100 recycling reward.

After using OP's fast charge for over 3 years on my 8T, I can't imagine caring any less about a feature on a phone than wireless charging.

Pixel 8 has better camera, wireless charging and lighter compare to 12R. It also holds better trade-in value and software support in the future. For me, I will choose Pixel 8. Performance should not be much different on daily activities.

I've owned the OnePlus 7t, OnePlus 8t, and now the OnePlus 9. I absolutely love them and their charging speed. Imo the OS is miles better than the pixel and Samsungs.
Yeah, I don't know much about previous Oneplus phones. I always looked at them but my thing has always been to buy 1-2 year old flagships at a bargain price (several LGs, a couple Samsungs, and HTC back in the day). I splurged on the Oneplus 11, and I'm glad I did. Some people say Oneplus went down hill, and some don't like the OS. If they went down hill, I'm really sorry I didn't try the brand sooner, because the 11 is fantastic.

I don't mind the OS, since I always use Nova Launcher on everything, and it feels a lot like stock Android otherwise, which I like. I usually mess around with Lineage and other third party OS ROMs, but I can't be bothered to ditch OxygenOS because it's familiar and just fine. The 12 looks great but the 11 still does everything I want it to, and does it very well.

Sweet! I only grabbed the 12r since they gave me $200 for a broken glass OnePlus 9. Can't beat that lol

You mean the OS that has constant spelling and grammar mistakes

Not sure where you see that at. I've used a bunch of the pixel phones and Samsung. I prefer color os to those. Not sure what spelling mistakes you are talking about about

Is the 12R a curved screen or flat?

From what I skimmed earlier, internal storage being UFS 3.1 instead of 4.0 (faster, more power efficient). 128 version was advertised as 3.1, but 256+ was listed as 4.0.

I got the 128 so unaffected. I doubt I'd bother returning over it though, lot of trouble for something that wouldn't have much real world impact for my use case. Others of course may have specifically wanted it.
Glad I went with the 12R. Who knows what else they are skimping on the more expensive model. But I heard they are offering refunds for the 256gb model.

Could someone please review this phone? How has your experience been so far?
How would you compare it with the Samsung or the Pixel phones? Thanks.

I like it better than the pixel 8 pro and the S24. Not really a review but I just prefer the 12R.

12R is the same as the ace 3 launched earlier in China except for some band support difference. There is a youtube review on ace 3: https://youtu.be/fVILSedHzNg?si=DB7c_Pzuw_2yg6el
I think the Ace3 has the UFC 4.0. The 12R is such a good deal that the "mix up" is no big deal to me.

Such a ridiculous camera setup. Very ugly.
I agree fully. I think they call it the Sundial Circle. The one on the 12 is even bigger than on the 12r. Super phones with the biggest bang for your buck but man what an ugly design. I am not a curved display fan. I am going to wait 6-9 months and see what phones are out there and keep the OnePlus on the back burner.

FYI: 128GB version uses UFS 3.1 for storage instead of UFS 4.0 in 256GB version
Not a huge deal but you MIGHT see slight slower loading/switching between apps.
That has been updated and no UFC 4.

I was able to get the 16gb/256gb version for $440 with the student discount. Looks like a sweet phone for the price

I also dislike the island camera design. It's protruding and your finger keeps pushing up against it. No matter which hand.
