Where can I get a 1000 inch
Heads up these are usually fixed sized displays so you'll need that 100-120 inches of screen/wall
Reminder in case anyone is considering this and doesn't yet know: the light source in laser PJs are currently not user replaceable so the 2 yr extended warranty means you'll get a minimum of 2yrs life out of this projector just like if you bought it new making these a really decent deal if you have/can get a screen of the model's specific size. (Also of note these are both pixel shifting models that max out at 4k@60fps)

I bought this new w/ 120" ALR screen included for about $2800 (IIRC) from Buydig. About 1.5yrs into ownership, I started getting dead pixels. Hisense customer service while a little slow did take care of the issue. With kids, my UST gets a lot of use and I'm anxious when I'll start getting dead pixels again. At this price point for 100-120" I would choose a 100" TV. I would however spend $3000 again for an UST w/ 150"+.

Still nothing compared to Frank's 2000 inch TV. I can watch The Simpsons from 30 blocks away!

That's a 98" tv, not a 1000" tv. I'm holding out for the 1000!
Buy 100 of them and setup a display array

To add to the pros and cons argument of TV vs Projectors…. Projectors always feel more like movie theater and the light is not as harsh to the eye. I always enjoy how "soothing" the projector imagine compare to my OLED that feels like looking at thousands of light bulbs.

Another pro I noticed is skin looks more real and not like your looking at someone behind glass and the pores too

If your going to spend the money-buy a formovie. Best picture you can get at a reasonable price, otherwise get the big tv

whats the point of paying 1500 for a refurbished 100" projector setup with constrianted setup parameters vs a brand new 100" hisense/TCL "budget" TV that still will destroy any laser projector picture for 2k without any of the placement headache.

The L9G model covers 107% of the Rec2020 color space. I'm unaware of any direct view TV that can do that (quantum dot or otherwise). So if you're a color junkie, Rec2020 is insane. To be able to see all of it must be pretty impressive.

There are a lot of comments about buying a 100' TV vs a UST projector - for me it's down to protecting my eyes. You are watching a reflection on a screen and nut staring at harmful rays from the TV. You will not if less fatigue and have more tv time without strain.
The ALR screens make it possible for you to watch with a lot of sunlight and all lights on if you want. Tough with a TV

That spec doesn't make sense to me , curious how that's measured? Color rendition for displays is entirely dependent upon the blacks it produces, so any color reproduction spec of a projector is for reference only since it's bouncing off a white/gray screen.

My guess is that they measure color space coming directly out of the lens, which is kind of a bogus way to measure, but also understandable since you can't really predict what sort of screen would be used with the projector.

This is something I struggle with. I have a 120" projector setup. One thing I really prefer about projectors is viewing an image that has no glass screen and its reflections. Previously, the fact that this was the only way to get sizes that large at a reasonable cost also was an argument in its favor. But the color accuracy, contrast ratio, and brightness of a large TV is tempting.

Reflected vs projected light is a key difference. Reflected being kinder on one's eyes.

I've been a projector guy for the last 10 years and I find myself NOT wanting to be in the dark more and more.
