Tip: If you buy from Best Buy- add the plus membership to your order for $50. It'll extend your return period from 15 days to 60 for peace of mind in case the U8K comes back on sale or if you decide you just don't like it. You can cancel the membership within 60 days of purchasing it for a full refund.

I would recommend looking into an android tv box (namely shield tv pro 2019) over any smart tv. They are notorious for having terrible google tv experiences, even the high end stuff. I'm sure there are some out there that are great but you're pigeonholing yourself if you need the tv to have good android tv. My two cents, won't recommend it though since I have owned the shield tv and haven't bothered looking at if smart tvs gotten any better.
I now avoid the Smart TV issues, and I'm using a Fire TV stick. Alternatively, you can use an Apple TV, Roku all an Android box. All will give you better performance. I will check out the Google UI and then switch to one of these if performance sucks.

Per the quick start manual, no handles.
I didn't see anything about the handles in that? Or maybe I was looking at a different manual. It definitely has handles at the top on the back.

I'd need a new wall just for the TV so that it could hold this weight.

This U76 is close but just misses the mark. Low Nit (800) level, if accurate, and not enough local dimming zones (256) on a TV this size could be an issue depending on environment you drop this in.

But you need to remember that the 100U76N is considered an entry level TV. I'm hoping that Hisense added the 256 zones for performance and not just specmanship. The 800 NITS is borderline for a TV. However, I hear your valid concerns.

The reviewers thought the 98S550G had acceptable performance, so I'm betting the performance will be acceptable and better than the S98550G though less than the 100U8K which was Hisense's previous entry level 100" TV. You also have additional 4% screen area and the ATSC 3.0 tuner.

How did it compared to the 100U8K if they had one there or the other Hisense TVs? Good feedback on the 100U76N.

That's the second TV mentioned in this deal. It's not worth $1k over the other. The Hisense 100" U8K is however but it's out of stock
They (TCL and Hisense) are both $1999.99 ?!?

Yes, the TCL 98S550G and the Hisense 100U76N are both the same price.

Maybe you wait and by next yr they have 120-150 inches. Take up an entire wall with glass! There was a time a family of 4 would huddle around a 20-25 inch.
That is what I'm thinking, 120". Maybe OLED too but we'll see. I don't think I can fit 150" down the stairs lol, but maybe in the bedroom one day (or living room if somehow I can get a swingable mount to work with it lol)

This is huge and impressive. I wonder how big many people's houses are that this makes sense.

Interesting as the recommended viewing distance is 10' for a 100" TV. It would be 12' for a 120" TV. I actually have a 126" screen in my home theater with my first row of seats at 12', however it has an aspect of 2.35:1. This means I can display a lot of movies with any horizontal black bars. However, streams for services like YoutubeTV I have vertical black bars. The picture besides the size difference, will be much better on the TV.

I bought the Sanus 65-95" for my 100" u8k since it was a pretty slim mount. (1.6") and on sale for $65 back in Nov.
I was pretty fortunate with the ease of mounting. Wife has a husky adjustable height work bench/desk in her office. I set that up against the wall and lifted the TV (still in the bottom styrofoam) on the desk. Hooked up all cables and plugged it in then slid the TV to the wall and raised the desk until the TV mount hooks were just over the wall mount bar. Slowly lowered the desk while my son watched to make sure the hooks caught the wall mount. Then lowered it more, slid the desk out and pulled off the bottom styrofoam and the bottom clicked into place. Way easier than I was originally expecting.
Mind to share the link? Thanks

I'm ignorant on this but also trying to figure out what I should get for a 10 ft distance....100 inch hisense tv or the $1,600 hisense projector around 120 inch screen. My Google searches give a closer reccomended viewing distance efor 4k than HD and that I guess is accurate but I would welcome any opinions.
