The Strat is somewhat more "complex" (tremolo, more pickup positions, etc.) compared to the Tele with its 2 pickups and fixed bridge. So technically you get "more" with the Strat, but sometimes "less is more".
The Tele's simplicity is what is so great about it.
Many people think they don't like the Tele because of the unfair association with godawful trash country music but it grows on you and eventually they come to love it (the Tele, NOT country music).
In the end though, if you stick with the hobby, chances are you'll end up with at least one of each anyway!

But the Tele is simpler and more "sturdy" and practically bulletproof. More likely to survive an accidental drop (get some strap locks $4).
And the Tele bridge pickup sounds is superior to the Strat bridge pickup sound. There's a reason people like Esquires that are Teles with only the bridge pickup. But the strat has 3 pickups so it has two different combination sounds bridge+middle pickup and middle+neck sounds that you can only get with a strat.
They're usually priced the same so both are the same deal.
Also both are great modding platforms. Plenty of after market upgrades that you can add overtime to really customize these.
Personally, I think even a cheaper Tele with decent pickups will sound good but I'd pay more for a quality strat upfront.
But if you really like Teles already, then this is a great deal for Fender MIM. I might bite.
