VA has offers more truer black colors and at the price-point will typically be faster (higher hertz) than IPS. IPS has better viewing angles and more vibrant colors. Keep in mind I'm referring to similarly priced panels.

I strongly prefer IPS for working. I've used both VA and IPS and got rid of my VA monitors on my work computer. I prefer the color accuracy and viewing angles of IPS panels. Some VA monitors have good color accuracy but they generally are not as good as similarly priced IPS monitors.

High refresh rate doesn't matter as much for work, in my opinion. I'd rather use a 4k monitor with 60 Hz refresh than 2k with 144+ Hz (I have one of each in my current set up and use both, but for productivity, there is no difference between 144Hz and 60Hz -- gaming, yes). Real estate via screen resolution is nice to have. Or, get multiple monitors.

It was on sale for $169, few weeks back. If anyone has bofa or chase credit card with walmart cashback offer, there was a 10 to 15% cash back also available.
One thing I realized after buying big monitor, if you move your cursor a lot on the screen from top to bottom, it becomes tiring for your hand.
For work, buy the size which is really needed.
You could always change the mouse sensitivity within Windows -OR- change the DPI on your mouse.

I replaced 23.5" monitors with two of these.. I would not buy for work purposes... It is just too big.. I would probably go for 27-28" if I had to do over.

Both monitors didn't have pixel issues.. but they are just so big that having a dual monitor setup is not feasible side by side as I can't see clearly from one end to another. Everything just looks massive on the screen but the text and icons are smaller.
It may be good just as a single monitor or three panel setup... but for work with a two panel setup its a bit inconvenient.

I've both BOA and Chase but unfortunately I don't see the 10-15% rewards otherwise it's a no Brainerd for me. Wasn't the $169 for the open box? I could be thinking of another monitor deal.
Sorry about that..
It was for the new item.
I have walmart cashback on my both cards chase 15%, max $15 and bofa 10%, max $10 until 31st.

Set your mouse to a higher DPI...
It helps. But big monitor comes with more content not just bigger visual size. Faster mouse speed is not always helpful, if the work requires fine access.. such as going through logging lines back and forth.
I switched from 24in to 32. May be I need to buy a better mouse and try.

IPS if you want even lit, like when you edit photos or video.

VA has a band of brightness and dim.

Really tempting or i can just scoot two inches closer to my screen for free

All jokes aside i have dual setup so this would world for everyone; i got a 7900xtx recently and it has issues with power draw with multi monitor until i had to do some fixes but 2-27" screens seems enough for me right now ; 32" seems kind of either too small or two side by side will be excessive with my current desk

I would benefit from this cause i do mostly RTS and webpage browsing so va with its pixel response isn't as much of an issue but i think free sync addresses most of it by now

Why all the monitor deals are for gaming monitors? I just need an office monitor, waiting for a deal
If you just need a office monitor, for things like internet use, watching movies shows etc, work like spreadsheets and such, then a gaming monitor is more than suitable for that use. It's not only for games and most gaming monitors are far better specs than a basic monitor.

I noticed that too when I jumped from a 1080p monitor to a 4k monitor. Most mouse max out at 1000 dpi. When I bought a better mouse with a higher DPI (I maxxed out at 16,000 dpi) I no longer got tired of moving my mouse and got used to not having to move my hand as far as I used to.

I bought this a few weeks ago for $169.99. I don't use it for gaming, but for security cameras. I tried a setting profile I got off reddit and it works great for my needs.

Then you want bright monitor, this one is 350nits. Stay away from 250 nits. I don't like to go over 27" on QHD monitors due to the text not looking smooth. But that's personal preference and some don't mind it as much. I got two curved 27" QHD monitors for work, almost the same specs as this one and I like it since I have a million tabs open
