Looks like the 7800x3D gets about 30 to 50% more frames than the 7600x. I was wondering, so I figure someone else would.

Yes but that is based on using 4090 GPU at 1080P, a non-realistic scenario. Plus, no one would buy a 7600X to pair with a 4090. A more sensible gpu would make the difference between the two CPU's nonexistent and would occur on mostly esports games. That is very specific use case. The biggest observable difference between the CPUs would be in productivity workloads with the increased core count of the 7800X3D.

Yeah, that channel is sketchy. There is no way I would trust those benchmarks. For two reasons, in your source video the CPU/GPU utilization doesn't make sense. The GPU is 95% in both videos, while a CPU-bottleneck would result in a lower GPU utilization % as it is waiting on the CPU to complete a process and then render. Simply, a GPU shouldn't be at 95% in both scenarios,at 4K Ultra, when rendering 120 FPS & 85 FPS in another instance. The other reason is the frame-time graphs, for the 7600X3D if the game is dipping to less than 10 FPS on 1% lows. The line graph wouldn't look flatter than the 7800X3D which has consistent frame-rates.

The bigger red flag is the channel posted 4080 Super benchmarks on Jan 23 when the official NVIDIA embargo is on January 31. This is evidence of fake benchmarks as those with pre-launch access to NVIDIA cards wouldn't risk breaking embargoes.

This is a better source, https://youtu.be/78lp1TGFvKc?t=920. One caveat is that it is being tested at 1080p. Because at 4K most gaming scenarios would differ by 1-2% which is margin of error.

Good price for this processor. If efficiency or budget is important for you, go with the 7600 instead. It's more efficient with only marginal performance difference. It also comes with a stock cooler so you don't have to get a cpu cooler.

For the people who want the 7600x CPU and G.SKILL Flare X5 Series AMD EXPO 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 Desktop Memory Model F5-6000J3636F16GX2-FX5
Value: $102.99

newegg has the same CPU Ryzen 5 7600x and two 16GB of DDR5 6000 RAM sticks for $249

https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-...ByNewegg=1

This is like paying another $50 for 32GB of RAM.

If you also need a B650 motherboard, there is another 7600x+B650+32GB combo deal for about $365.
This is $65 more expensive than the expired deal from two or three days ago. But it is still the cheapest one if you dont have a MicroCenter store near you.
