89C has legs instead of a pedestal stand, otherwise identical.
I've had this TV for about 7 weeks or so now. Great TV, but just got a stuck-on pixel dead center. Tried all of the stuck pixel tricks, pixel refresh, etc. It's still there. Not too noticeable in most shows, but of course now my eye is always looking for it.
Absolutely this. It's competes with the C3 so getting it for less than the B3 is a steal. It's effectively the same TV as the S90C.

$2375 after tax for the 83" woled s90c.
Or $1950 for the 77" qd-oled s89c?

I did the s89c, got it up today and am loving it so far. If you need the extra size for viewing distance, and your room isn't super bright, I'm sure the 83" is a bomb TV too. But this panel is flawless, and the brightness is just astounding for an OLED. Plus, an 83" would be an uncomfortably tight fit in my living room, and at a certain point, the larger you go, the more exposed non-4K content looks. Staying safely under $2k was a nice psychological factor for the wife, too 😂

I got this echogear adjustable stand because I wanted the TV to sit lower than the default feet. You can also raise it up and there's space to rest a soundbar on it.

If you prefer to get it from best buy, this looks like the same item

Nice! Thanks!

Best way to decide is to go to your local best buy or retail TV store and checking both TVs or similar ones. I haven't seen an S90C 83in being showcased anywhere but you can get a good idea by looking at any 83in TV at the store. I would recommend to look at an 83in Sony LED TV or TCL TV. If a regular LED TV gives you a better experience than the S90C 77in, then it is a no brainer going for the S90C WOLED 83in TV. I have seen some Sonys A80L 83in being displayed which is also WOLED.

And 6 months from now you and your wife will be wondering why you didn't go larger. Let's face it, the majority of the time you will not be watching tv with ambient lighting (and if you do you need to ask yourself or your spouse why). The fact that this is an 83" display will be plenty bright no matter what technology. If you can afford an 1800 tv then you can afford a 2500 tv (or less). Just stop it with being cheap and do what you and your wife would want to do.

When I went from 65 to 77, I was extremely happy. But if I knew I could get an 83 for only 700 more back then it would not even be a question. If it fits, it fits. I don't know what you mean by "uncomfortably tight".

Unless you know you can switch tv soon, you want to go with largest size you could possibly fit and afford. Period.
Only a sith deals in absolutes...

Seriously though, don't be so dense. It's not helpful. Making assumptions about how we view TV and about our budget but then saying "I don't know what you mean by..." makes you sound totally ignorant. You don't know the size of our room, our viewing distance, our furniture arrangement, our ceiling height, our window and lighting layouts, or the typical content we watch on a TV.

Yeah I went with the 83" but totally get where you're coming from. It's in a room that gets a lot of light, don't know if it was the right call over the qdoled but my room is pretty large. Everyone's use case is different.

Would a simple sound bar like this be an upgrade over the TV speakers? Is it worth it for $229?

Anyone know if the actual border is thicker on the 89c vs 90c?

My parents have 90c but at this price this is extremely tempting. Though I am mostly watching streaming 4k Atmos content and sports

Bezel/borders:

S89c is: 0.31" (0.8 cm)

S90c is: 0.28" (0.7 cm)

Probably not much of a noticable difference in person

I think this is comparing the 65" s90c to the 77" s89c

True, but do we know if borders are typically different depending on size?

That'll be most people's decision. An 83in is ~14% bigger than a 77in. QD-OLED is better tech than WOLED, but WOLED wins in keeping deep black levels while QD struggles in ambient light.

Practically, considering optimal viewing distance, 77in is ~8-10ft while 83in is 9-11ft. Is the extra $400 worth an extra foot? Up to you. To me, it isn't. If I could sell my 77 LG C1, I'd be all over the S89C.
