I have a OnePlus 11 256gb. I am not on social media, regularly download all my photos to my computer and wipe out the gallery, and have just a handful of games and apps I use for work.

Current storage usage: 101gb/256gb.

I don't know why it is the way it is, probably NSA related tracking or just poor coding on developers part. But, he's not wrong in saying that 128gb is pretty abysmal at this point.

It's a price point phone from a budget brand. The 128gb storage is adequate as long as the user periodically offloads photos and videos to the cloud. The more serious concern is the quality of the cameras. Motorola phones do not have a good reputation in this regard.

Most Moto phones that I have owned only received updates for a year (or maybe) two. What is the situation on updates with this one ?

I have this phone...

OK, Camera is NOT good but good enough in good lighting pics.

The thing about this phone is that it is fast enough, my biggest thing that I do daily is use Android Auto and this phone is smooth enough. And that is the moto of this phone... BARELY fast enough but BARELY fast enough.

Eh ide wait to buy this, Moto phones values have been dropping like rocks lately so it should be $99 pretty soon.

Moto is doing well on Value and battery life, but completely missing the fact they are WAY behind on Dual Sim(eSim/Physical sim support).

Stop buying these pos phones without sd card slots so they can charge you 10 times the amount for cloud storage and memory.. If people wouldn't buy this crap including apple, they wouldn't keep planning obsolescence....

I used to love Moto phones. Have bought many over the years. Really loved the (mostly) vanilla Android UI. But, the lack of updates really got annoying and so I eventually switched to a Pixel (taking advantage of the awesome Mint deal). Anyway, if they provided updates and maybe even major Android updates for a few years longer I'd be all over them... For the kids, I'm switching them from Moto phones to Samsung, but frankly I don't really like Samsung's UI. But they'll get used to it I think.

What do you mean? It's running Android OS, which is developed by Google. Unless you buy an iPhone, with pretty much every other smart phone, you're going to be Googling.

stylus 22 is $128, on the same page. what's teh diff between the two? worth the extra price?
It is NOT worth the savings. The Stylus 22 uses a Mediatek G88 processor, which is about half the speed of the Dimensity 1050 in the Edge 2022.

https://gadgetversus.com/processo...helio-g88/

(Note, the link above is for the Dimensity 1000; the Dimensity 1050 is a bit faster yet.)

If you're looking to pinch a few pennies, you can get the Edge 2022 off of Amazon in "refurbished excellent" condition for like $140, or at least you could at the time I made this post.

Motorola makes some absolutely moronic design choices with its phones. For example, for the Stylus 23 (NOT the 5G variant), they actually downgraded the processor from the G88 to the G85. Admittedly, they perform about the same, but the G85 is an older chip. So I wouldn't consider that either. (They did similar gimping to their G Power phone a few years back, moving from a 1080p screen and an okay SD processor, to an HD screen and a weaker off-brand processor. Not sure if they ever rectified.)

The Stylus 5G 2023 has a better, Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, but it retails around $300.

Anyone know of a phone with a big SD card slot? I don't like the mini SD cards, too easy to loose. I wish phones would use bigger SD card slots for the postage stamp size. Now if they had a floppy disk size!!

No, I don't think that is what this person was asking. They were asking whether any manufacturers produce phones with regular SD Card slots (as opposed to Micro SD Card slots, which are still a dying breed in phones). So far as I know, there are no phones with a regular SD Card slot.

I had this phone for a year, never received any of the Android updates that were promised. I was stuck on the native version. Stay away from Motorola devices is my advice if you care about updates.

This is the reason I would buy this phone for a friend's birthday. He HATES OS updates because it requires him modify how he uses the phone. laugh out loud Great for luddites who can't do without a smartphone.
