I have a OnePlus 11 256gb. I am not on social media, regularly download all my photos to my computer and wipe out the gallery, and have just a handful of games and apps I use for work.

Current storage usage: 101gb/256gb.

I don't know why it is the way it is, probably NSA related tracking or just poor coding on developers part. But, he's not wrong in saying that 128gb is pretty abysmal at this point.

It's a price point phone from a budget brand. The 128gb storage is adequate as long as the user periodically offloads photos and videos to the cloud. The more serious concern is the quality of the cameras. Motorola phones do not have a good reputation in this regard.

Most Moto phones that I have owned only received updates for a year (or maybe) two. What is the situation on updates with this one ?

I don't see Gorilla Glass in the specs anywhere. Maybe the plus version does but this one doesn't.
When I did a search of the stylus moto vs this one, it said the Edge has Gorilla Glass.

Based on moto's website this should get A14, from history of their updates it will get A14 after A15 is released.
Updates from Motorola are irregular and always a month late for security and a year late on OS version.

What I hate is that you get a 128gb phone but it already has about 30gb used right off the bat. I've never understood why they can make a phone all the way up to a terabyte but they're still going to use some of that internal storage and jip you out of some of it. If the phone says 128 GB that is the exact number you should get. They shouldn't use any portion of that storage to put all their junk in.

Yeah, that makes sense. A good reason people prefer unlocked devices direct from the manufacturer vs bloatware included from a carrier.

It's still bad, with default android already using so much space- but every bit helps I guess.

Since writing this, I actually purchased a Nothing Phone 2 512gb that will be here on Monday. $430 used-acceptable on Amazon. Not sure if that's worth rolling the dice but we'll see.

Have a few Edge phones I used before ThinkPhone's came down in price and our org started buying those. The Edge is still receiving regular updates, and I still keep going back to it; it's a solid phone.

LGv30 still as fast as when I bought it. 100+tabs, only drawback is no 5G so I'm.moving on to newer Samsung. The OnePlus8 was incredible , blows this away probably? Not sure how these phones are getting slower with newer tech.

Uhh this phone doesn't have a flagship chip. The OP8 has an 865 with a very good GPU, Nand, etc...

This phone has surprised me. Got it for a family member. It's camera is just as good as my Edge + 2022 and it seems plenty fast overall. And unlike my Edge +, it gets 5G on Cricket!

I have this phone since last year. Part of the Tmobile free phone deal. I keep it as a backup phone.

IMO it's an awesome phone worth $200. Fast, light and the battery last a long time.
It's much better than the Samsung Galaxy A32 5G which I also got for free.
How did you get these phones free?

Don't know what you're doing. I have OP11 40 gb music, 20 gb movies, 200 apps using 130 gb.

Camera is Very Good/Excellent. Maybe you should reevaluate your information sources, you have been duped and you fell for it.

Plus is vastly superior, and more in line with a lower high end phone. It's lacking in zoom capabilities, for example. Update policy is closer to a midrange.
