Pretty sure you can just update the firmware yourself if needed but by the lack of complaints over the past year it seems like they've gone through all the old units. The M51a goes on sale for $200 every year during BF so they move a lot of units

Are the two up-firing speakers the only difference between these units? Looks like dimensions and weight of the sub and satellites are identical, remote and touch controls look the same. 9 speakers vs 11 speakers per the descriptions

I bought this one on BF. Very good soundbar when it is working. Clear conversation, impressive surrounding sound, much better than old Samsung 2.1 with 2 rear speakers, no comparison. Hisense soundbar is garbage, don't buy. One issue with eArc, not compatible with fire cube 2nd gen. No audio sometimes, fire remote can't control volume with eArc or optical. It could be fire cube issue, but Vizio soundbar is big brand. I see a lot of eArc complaints. Atmos is simulated not real, chicken rib, but better than nothing. Buy with caution.

It's probably 10% of what atmos is intended to sound like at best. I don't even know why they allow stuff like this to be called atmos.
