Please read before you decide to thumb this down. I know it has been posted before. But, it was erroneously marked as expired; most likely by a well-meaning slickdealer who couldn't find any in their area. Well I took a few minutes to search in my area and some bigger cities and was successful. This post is for those people lucky enough to live in those areas and could use one. I did not search all places but will post the ones I found in the Wiki including areas that did not have any. I suggest that you find update that Wiki either way to help those looking (strictly optional of course). The link above is for reference only.

Yes, in-store only. Good question so I added it to the title. Don't go by what the website says. Search brickseek with the Internet# listed in the wiki and use your zip code.

Found one in two stores. Both were tool only and had no spool. One they wouldn't budge on the other I got for a friend for $50.

There is one at the Carmel IN store they wouldn't take anything less on.

Op, thanks for the dedication to helping others get a good deal. Woke up early since I saw you posted availability in a nearby HD, walked in and found a box behind all the newer trimmers.

If anyone else is scouting for this, I was able to narrow it down because it was one of the only tools in the area that was not part of the 'FUEL' line. it was also slightly narrower and taller than the updated model.

Despite brickseek showing 4 in stock, Boyton Beach FL was out. We checked everywhere in the store. Coral Springs FL, also unfindable after a lot of searching. Delray FL store #6325 says 6. Had 3, up on shelf above the trimmer section. One box was pretty beat, the other looked okay. I grabbed the third so should be 2 left there as off 1PM 2/9.

Okay, got it setup and used this thing today. First electric yard tool. It's fairly impressive! Fairly well balanced for the motor being at the head. I'd say just as powerful as the gas echo 260 trimmer I used to have. Looks like .80 line comes with it. Cant wait to get some .95 in it for the thicker areas.

I don't know if these are the same as the quick lock version that I have, but the line spool is so bad. It constantly gets tangled. Each time I need to let new line out I have to undo the head and untangle the line. Real pain in the ass, wish I never bought it.

The actual motor head or whatever you call it is great. The string trimmer head, not so much.
