OP you really should update the title to reflect the free 5.0 and/or price after hack, it's a good deal considering that but when I clicked on it I was like "that's not a deal at all", I was wrong but only after I saw the follow up comment did I know that.
bought this on dotd yesterday at $179 but didn't separate the 5ah battery so can't hack. Bought it late thinking I could take it back and didn't want to miss the deal. Anyone use this, I already have the drill and driver, and have bosch installation driver but kept going back thinking the batteries maje it worth it.
Paid full price on this late last year cause I needed It and don't regret it one bit. Fantastic drill and I actually have used all of the attachments for various reasons.
I 100% regret not buying this sooner when I would see these sales.

A++ tool
What's the purpose of the handguard? Does it contain components? Looks like it would get in the way.

Love this tool. It's lightweight and can get in very small spaces. It isn't a powerhouse and the chuck is smaller than the M18 line, but if I could only grab one drill or driver, this is it. It's been my goto during my boat rebuild.

It actually has a little magnet pad where you can store bits while u work. It's a decent size I can usually fit 3 or 4 bits on there at a time no problem.
I also feel like it helps keep the tool balanced in hand as well almost like a counterbalance.
Def doesn't get in the way for me at all.

Yeah. Bosch one is better design and on sale goes for the hack price (or new on ebay most of the time). But if you are/want to be in m12 system, then grab this
How have returns been with hacked items lately? Any tips? I still haven't performed a hack.
Also at $124 is this a pretty solid deal?
Try online first. If no dice u can sometimes call I've heard but generally speaking what I do is I wait to receive and then return in store.
Another option is ship TO store and when u go pick up just only accept the items u want and leave the excluded items there and they refund u the difference
I typically prefer Makita (nothing against Milwaukee, I just started in the Makita ecosystem and haven't left) but this looks like a really handy style of drill for the weekend warrior. Might just have to jump into the 12V Milwaukee tool line now. It's too bad Makita doesn't make something like this. Would love to "hack" this but I feel like the 5A HO battery would be worth having.
I got this for $117 with hack last year. If you don't already have the battery this is a good deal with two HO batteries.
Edit: this tool is sitting in my Packout still unused because of the design and the stupid forward/reverse button on the top.
I bought the Bosch 300 version on Amazon for $99 and been using that 100% of the time. Much better tool in my opinions, but because I'm not invest in Bosch I only have two Bosch batteries for that tool.

I sold all my Makita LXT for Milwaukee M18 and M12 using all High Output batteries.
I feel betrayed when Makita invested more in XGT leaving us LXT is the dust. Also XGT batteries is too bulky, it's silly using a compact impact driver with a battery bigger than the tools. Milwaukee beat Makita in batteries and variety of selections.

The listing says it is in the top for easy to use, I wonder if the f/r switch can be accessed by the thumb when holding the tool and does not require two hands to do it.
