Book Details:
  • The first set of books collecting Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes comics in a compact, portable format designed to introduce the timeless adventures of a boy and his stuffed tiger to a new generation of readers.
  • This set is composed of two 144-page paperback books, including nearly 500 comics from the strip's debut in Nov. 1985 through March 1987. It is the first of seven sets total to be released between 2023 and 2026.
  • Calvin and Hobbes is unquestionably one of the most popular comic strips of all time. The imaginative world of a boy and his real-only-to-him tiger first appeared in 1985 and could be read in more than 2,400 newspapers when Bill Watterson retired on January 1, 1996.
  • Featuring archival slipcase and cover art selected by the author, The Calvin and Hobbes Portable Compendium pays tribute to the strip's origin in newspapers while appealing to both new and existing fans of Calvin and Hobbes.

I'm assuming that all of this content is in the larger box set?
It says it's 144 pages and there will be 7 volumes. Assuming similar size, then it's going to be short.

The hardcover set says it's 1456 pages, which would be 10 145 page volumes (to get 7 volumes, you'd have to be over 200 pages each).

That said, they could print smaller smaller on the pages to make more room.

But for $67 dollars, you get the whole box set (at $10.99, it's be closer to $77 for all 7 volumes).

Huh. I put in the great old movie "Gotcha" about a paintgun-loving college student getting accidentally wrapped up in fighting spies. I expected that the lower priced Item, this book would be cut in half, making it 5.50. But instead it cut a few bucks off of the price of each item, effectively diving the 5.50 discount among both items. Somehow, that just feels odd, in an unimportant way
They do this in case you later return the higher priced item Smilie. This way you don't get this cheaper item at 50%.

I put this in my son's backpack so he can read it in line after school.
