I've used this Krups everyday for almost 5 years and have never cleaned it nor had a clog. Loud as hell for sure but very reliable.
Def a good deal for a name brand burr grinder, but the Cuisinart DBM-8P1 was a Consumer Report Best Buy as I recall. I have the Cuisinart, so I can vouch for it (very reliable, does not clog, large capacity hopper and grind container - but loud af). That said, it's currently selling for over $50, so this Krups at less than $32 is pretty hard to beat, price wise.
I have one and have had it for years.
Good deal to buy another for a backup!

After tossing an OXO in the bin due to its constant clogging attributable to a sideways chute I would say forget this. It will constantly clog and require cleaning. That will be almost impossible to do. I purchased a KitchenAid grinder. Although far more expensive, it is fast, extremely quiet, and has a straight hole from the bean hopper to the receptacle, which will not clog and can be easily cleaned from above.
Which KitchenAid grinder model are you referring too? I purchased this grinder to try out, but would pay extra for a quiet reliable grinder. I'm currently using those a spice grinder and would like something with a higher capacity.

Wondering the same thing. I keep seeing that you have to spend >$150 to get espresso, so I'm guessing not.

I have owned this burr grinder for 3 years and use it daily. It has never once clogged, although I don't grind the really oily espresso beans. If I really had to nitpick anything about it, it's the static in the container after you grind sometimes caused the grinds to stick to the edges. Just tap the container on the counter after grinding to avoid this.

I've had one of these grinders for a few years now. Definitely an entry level grinder. Very loud. Lots of static in the plastic bin tends to make a mess when emptying grounds. Chute gets slowly clogged from fine powder but its pretty easy to scrape out. I dont really know how the cups setting on the grinder is supposed to line up with quantity of coffee but its not 1:1. I make 6 cups of coffee on about 3.5 cup setting on the grinder and I feel like its pretty strong.

For $30, this will elevate your morning coffee big time above pre-ground coffee, just know it has some quirks so you will want to upgrade eventually.

Costco online has a superior conical burr grinder with glass container for only $9 more if you're so inclined

I occasionally use this to grind beans for my Moka pot and it does a good job. Thats not full on espresso, but similar enough I would think you could make espresso.

I have this unit. It's an awful grinder. I finally replaced it. For me, the problem was it would not grind finely enough to make good espresso coffee.

Looks like a good deal. Our basic grinder has lasted an insane number of years...but it isn't a burr grinder....hum.
There are manual burr grinders if you don't want to spend much. Like this one, only $16 right now https://www.amazon.com/Grinder-Co...40&sr=1-23

I would like to buy a reasonably priced coffee grinder, but had such a poor experience with an Ariete (sp) grinder, hesitant to jump in again. The grinder mentioned left more of a coffee grounds mess, clean up, more bother than it was worth. Judging from some comments here, not sure this one will fit the bill. I don't care about espresso, so maybe ok?

I could be wrong but burr grinders grinds the beans more evenly than the blade grinders and gives you more control over how coarse or fine the grinds are. I guess a more even grind will result in better coffee.

The quality of the grind is night and day. A decent burr grinder will make grounds that look like pre-ground coffee, but fresher. Here is a real cheap one if you don't mind grinding. Just an example - there are many inexpensive manual ones
