Bought these last year and regretted my decision the moment I opened up the box. The black circle takes up half the ball so one side is black and the other is white. It was a nightmare to look down on in the fairway. You put one of these off the fairway, you can forget about finding it if the white section is on the bottom. Those pictures make the black circle look a lot smaller.
Why didn't they cover them with a white circle
I got this on the last deal. The black dots are obnoxiously large. Sometimes it's even difficult to locate the ball in a patch of grass.

Great deal on the ProV1 balls, they are rarely this low. If the black dot isn't a distraction, this is def a great deal. Black dot is basically just logo overruns that they covered with a black circle.

White is harder to cover with and the logo would potentially show through, especially with how thin they need that layer to be.
Not to mention how precisely these things are balanced, adding a few layers of white might throw it off. Kinda like painting walls white over any color, it's gonna take a few coats
