It's very, very good. One of my top favorite games ever. Up there in my top 10 with games such as Divinity 1 and 2, and Fallout 2. Starts out very difficult, but stay with it. The game lasts a very long time and transforms into 2 different types of games at once.
as a young prince or king game, how does this rate compared to king's quest 3, Ni No Kuni II and final fantasy xv..?
It's not like any of those games. It's a CRPG like the D&D games (Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale, etc), Pillars of Eternity and so on.
Kingmaker is OK but the persistent time limit on the game bothered me. Wrath of the Righteous is a far better game, IMO.
Or you could spend less than a dollar more and get it from an authorized retailer so you aren't dealing with a shady keyshop that got it from who knows where, under who knows what circumstances, and with no guaranteed support from Steam: https://www.indiegala.com/store/g...ce=ggdeals
And yes, it's the Imperial Edition. Fanatical has the best price for the Enhanced Edition, but it's worth the extra dollar to get the Imperial Edition for the DLC.

I see there are many variations.

I think this is the best version for the cost. The Imperial Edition has some extra DLC, but I don't think it's worth the premium over this one.
