You will be charged $150 today and on the backend a credit for that amount will be placed on your SIM.

When you activate, the SIM uses its $150 credit to purchase 1 year of service at the discounted rate of $150.

If you fail to activate in the time frame, which is anywhere from 3-6 months, they will charge you full price (an additional $150) and add it to the SIM cards balance for when/if you ever activate it.

No matter what, you are purchasing 1 year of service and the SIM card they send will forever have 1 year of prepaid service sitting on it. Whether you activate in 1 day or 3 years it will still work, the only difference is whether you pay $150 or $300 for that SIM.

I ported out a few weeks back. It took about 2 hours. I had to call in and get the account and pin first. It took a few redirects and waits, and attempts by them to get me to stay. But this took about 30-45 mins. Then I had to call again as during thr port out process, they don't automatically approve it. It again took a few redirects and waiting and upsell and finally was able to port out.

Boost Mobile customer service is the worst. The first 2 layers of customer service cannot speak freely or answer your questions. They are only allowed to respond with a few scripted sentences. Keep asking for a manager or supervisor and pray you don't disconnect during the 45 minute wait.

Wasted so much time and energy when I bit on a Slick Deal last year and they overcharged me $180 which took 10+ calls and 2 months to get back (They initially issued it as credit to my account and I had to fight even more to get it back to my card)

From the linked discussion just posted above your post, the Boost reps is saying an At&t activation (if you were sent a T-Mobile sim) must be done in-store. All other methods such as doing it yourself, calling/chatting with a Boost rep will all fail.

Since At&t activation worked for you, am I correct to assume that was done inside a Boost store, or did you find some other way to accomplish this task?
I bought a simcard on eBay and did it at home. I was betting on the possibility that boost reps are not well trained. I wasn't wrong this time.

Did you have to interact with the boost rep at all for the activation?

Once you activate, you can't switch networks.

So, after ordering online, if you receive a T-Mobile SIM, go to a Boost dealer and purchase a "Black"/AT&T SIM and enter that SIM's ICCID when going through the activation flow of the plan you purchased online.

Would there be any issue if you were porting ?

No.

The option to port is part of the activation flow.

It's the same flow regardless of the SIM ICCID/serial you enter during the flow.

Looks like I'm the only one that wanted T-Mobile. The tower at the end of my road now has T-Mobile 5G (rural N71) antennas on it, I did not notice the install, but Google Streetview shows its been within the last 12 months.

For the small town 15 miles away I'm getting 500mbps downloads.

I'm enjoying this so far,

The issue with tmobile is not the speed but heavy deprioritization. I have mint and speeds are over 100mpbs many times but deprioritization is bad in peak hours and it's almost unusable for me.

I've had mint almost a year and a half, I use a lot of data a month 50-60 gigs. Occasionally I have a issue with slow data (once a week maybe) I usually put the phone in air plane mode a few seconds , turn off and my datas back to normal. I did not buy this boost deal but should have my mint plans up in may to renew my mint plan yearly 480$ I should of bought this 2xs for 300$ 1 for e sim and 1 regular sim and when I used 1 35 gig switch it over monthly. I did not think of it until the deal was dead . I'm hoping it comes back Before may !

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN U MANAGE TO BUY ATT SIM AND TRY TO ACTIVATE INPLACE OF THE DELIVERED T-MOBILE WITH THIS $150 PLAN.

I managed to buy att sim in a boost mobile store $10+ tax without any hustle or special requests.

I am sure I can activate on my own since the process is enter ur device and ICCID of your sim that's it but still took the Customer representative's help to get this att sim activated.

SIM ACTIVATED WITHOUT ANY ISSUE BUT BUT WHEREVER YOU GO, U END UP IN HAVING "LTE" SIGNAL ONLY EVEN THOUGH YOU INSTALL FORCE 5G APP FROM PLAYSTORE AS THE MANUAL ENABLING FOR THIS OPTION HAS BEEN HIDDEN IN SETTINGS.

More details:
As per my experience the moment you change to a network TYPE from " Phone info " option either using " Force lte only 4g/5g " app from playstore or by dialling*#*#4636#*#* the settings are not saved once u exit from the option. Even it is saved, the network is not shifting which means boost att customers have a downgraded service and you can't do anything I guess after doing all types of work around. However, somebody from redditt was able to achieve 5g signals soon after the above said settings via FORCE LTE app.. for exact details you can google it reddit prefix.

The only good news is...
I've been with boost mobile from last 3 months before this one year plan in which I used by default given t-mobile which has good signal 5g sometimes 5g+ as well. However, I never experienced that quality when browsing or watching some content especially whatsapp calls where in I need to switch to public low speed wifi which has no interruptions during whatsapp calls. I only noticed that I've 5g when I download something which is super fast except that everything is second quality network & I don't know how they were able to filter the quality to give that II grade experience to remind us we're with EMVO network or what do u call?? Maybe rented towers network...
I use to have Lte or even more downgraded network at my home especially when Indoor as there is a lake nearby I guess.

NOW WITH ATT LTE:
It's a low speed compare to 5g, however I dont see latency or buffer issues in whatsapp etc etc etc.
So, I tried to accept that way although the fact remains that I can't achieve 5g until a year ( ofcourse if I go to a top city, this might change I guess).

Very lengthy message naa here is the summary

SUMMARY:
Purchase black att sim from boost mobile store activate by calling to customer care and you may not get 4g/5g.
You end up in having LTE but with full signal bars wherever you go.
