Thank you Papertrail for pointing out. For 20 cents more you can have 2 fans. It might increase fan noise but you can take out 1 fan as a backup just incase 1 fails.

Looking at the specs online I see where they seem to indicate the same noise level specs (25.6 dBA) for the fans on each model:

https://www.thermalright.com/prod...it-120-v2/
https://www.thermalright.com/prod...0-plus-v2/

It would be nicer if they listed values in dB, but regardless of the dB value of one fan, and assuming they do indeed produce the same dB noise level, two fans together should generate around double the noise thus adding 3dB to the rating.

Good luck!

This one has two fans for .20 more. Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 V2 Plus CPU Cooler 4 Heat Pipes with AGHP Technology, 120mm PWM Double Fan CPU Air Cooler,154mm High, for AMD AM4 AM5/Intel 1700/1150/1151/1200,PC Cooler https://a.co/d/1hwXSdw

Not sure if the db is accurate as it appears to somehow be quieter?
I have the 120 Assassin King RGB (5 heat pipes) on a 3600x with a Rx 6800 below, my airflow isn't completely optimized but for cpu heavy games temps stay cool and fan very quiet.

The value proposition on these sub 20$ thermalright coolers is phenomenal.

They also have a sale on the ID-COOLING FROZN A620 Black [a.co]
I used my $10 gift card on it and got it for $32.
I really like the modern look of these new ID cooling products, I have been waiting for weeks for it to come down off the $50 price.

Is 6 pipes significantly better than 4 or is it the 2nd fan that makes a difference?

Thermalright is the tops for low cost tower coolers. Go look at GN reviews and beats the expensive brands. I have had this single fan design and am currently using a double tower twin fan style. Its quite and keeps things cool.

dang it. 4mm too tall for what i need. my 4U chassis only allows for coolers 150mm high. hopefully the deepcool AG400 drops down soon so i can get rid of the dying watercooler that's in there now.

anyone know of a $15ish cooler that is 150mm or shorter that uses a 120mm fan?

Theoretically that could be true since if you're running 2 fans you might be able to run them at a slower speed to achieve the same cooling potential, thus making it quieter.

You can see the same principle at work on cases like the Fractal Design Torrent which uses several large fans at the front in place of smaller ones so is able to run them slower/quieter than other models.

looking for a comparison to the more expensive ($30+) Peerless Assassin 120 or Phantom Spirit 120 models, but seems hard to find. Anyone here try more than one of these TR models?

I bought the TR Phantom Spirit for my i9-12900K with the intention of using it temporarily while I awaited Noctua's latest NH-D15 update. However, the TR PS keeps me below ~30C idle though (below 25 before I installed my GPU) w/ a max of 89C under full load, so I see no need to replace it. These TR coolers are a fantastic value.

Both will outperform this cooler. The performance of the Peerless Assassin (PA) and Phantom Spirit (PA) are close, but the PS edges out the PA in every online comparative review I have seen except 1. You can't go wrong with either though. They're both great coolers. It looks like the PS is $35.39 on Amazon [amazon.com] atm.

Given the PS is just $1.40 more expensive than the PA, I decided to go for the PS. Also returning an unopened Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 from a previous SlickDeal.

Thanks and repped.

I can not find anywhere what wattage the Cooler can Handle? Think that would be Key, if the Cooller can't handle 100W dissapation (example) then all 12,13,14th gen Intel can not use it?

212? God yes. The 212 is a ancient relic at this point. I have one cooling my 5800X and the only thing saving my CPU is the PPT limit set to 85W.

Techpowerup says 235W. You probably wouldn't want to run it that high unless you're under water
