Newer model, and my account had a 30% of coupon. YMMV
Absolutely agree. SD promotes a lot of junk on this platform. Amazon currently was ordered to make sure the junk it sells meet certain standards. SD promotes just about anything cheap and a lot of it are junks from the world's factory so that it can make money off it.
X-sense aka the ones who built my security camera that allowed the boys bike to be stolen undetected 2X+vanished from AppStore and are somehow back!

I have seen the Kidde ones similar to this design regularly on sale at Home depot for $15. Last time they were that price I bought several to put all around the house. And they use regular AA batteries.
If you want cheap, you can buy these for $7 on another site. They look like a smoke detector and have digital readout.
If CO poisoning is a real concern for you, I would buy a US brand.
But I dont see why this is a concern for most people, unless you have a running car parked in your house or a fireplace. CO doesn't just magically appear, it is produced by a source.
We have stayed in so many AirBnB's with sus HVAC systems and no CO detector to be found throughout the house/condo. Which of course, in most states, is illegal. But AirBNB doesn't check and nobody thinks about an HVAC failing while they're traveling. Highly recommend everyone has a portable pen size CO detector in their ruck sack/travel kit. Even if you buy a cheap Chinese brand one, you can quickly verify it works by holding a lit match close to the sensor for a second. I don't necessarily recommend this one for that because it's bulky but there are ultra portable ones.
I have a few of their smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors that connect to a hub. The setup was super easy, battery life has been great so far, and range is very good. Build quality is also pretty good.
be advised... the sensor is 10yr but the CR123A Battery is 5yr
so you'll need another ~$10 Battery before the sensor expires.
If you're paying $10 for a CR123 battery...
About $2.25 each where I shop.
You could also buy a set of RCR123s and recharge them but that would mean you probably have to spend $100 on a LiIon battery charger in your eyes.
My battery powered smoke detector eat two batteries in six months. So 40 batteries in 10 years. What's the issue here?
Whoa, what brand is it? I've only used Kidde and First Alerts and I've only ever had to replace the AA's before the year is up like two times. Honestly, I could probably wait two years before replacing, but then I'm risking the annoying low battery beep at 2am.

Newer model, with 1 time use coupon, if you have it, is $20.
This deal is $20 with no limit.
Sooo... what's difference XC01-R vs XC04-R?
Really not much info about the XC04-R on website.... appears to have wifi app support (based on product pics on x-sense.com) but from amazon and reviews on amazon, it's a standalone model.
FWIW, the WiFi connected combo version with photoelectric smoke detection and app alerts is $15 more right now.

Is this UL-listed? I don't see any indication that it is

do you trust this device? or risking your life with bargain?
There's this new thing called Google, you guys should try it.
It's UL (US) and EN (Europe) tested and approved per the manufacturer specifications. Furthermore you can and should regularly test your detectors regardless of brand or how much you've paid. I've seen Kidde and First Alerts fail, too. Paying more gets you nothing.

So the steps are: Ultimate, 105 then 205?
