I dont see any reason to upgrade from my $120 my i5-12600k for gaming pc. THis is a good deal though

I'm in the same boat.
12600k in my media server has been working well.....probably not worth upgrading for an extra 2 p cores.

At this price you can't go wrong. 14th gen will cost way more for so so increase in performance imo

This is an amazing deal... but it's pretty niche, which is probably why the price is so good.
Most people on LGA 1700 already have Alder Lake, so it's probably a pretty rare scenario where it makes sense to go from some lower end alder lake CPU to a 12700k but *not* Raptor Lake or Raptor Lake Refresh, which are at least somewhat faster. It's also tough to justify a brand new LGA 1700 build when AM5 exists and we're not that far away from Intels new platform.

Still, no doubt that this is an absolute shitload of performance for $175 bucks.
