Home Depot did NOT drop EGO, it was the other way around where EGO dropped Home Depot. And they did put all EGO products on clearance but it had nothing to do with it being a bad product, it was because their license with EGO required them to sell all their eGO products by a certain date.

I bought this mower a week ago it's great! My last price was round $438 with tax after returning the "Free" 5ah battery.

When ordered it showed bundle but after the battery was delivered it showed as separate order and was able to return it.

Then i just waited for the mower and my refund $218 for the battery.

Hope that helps if anyone just wants the mower with 7.5ah and doesnt need the 5ah battery for a lower price.

any battery only deal? my 7.5 from 2018 crapped out and is completely dead. i tried jumping it with my other batteries and nothing

Go to Facebook or Craigslist. I would stay away from knockoffs on Amazon.

Thank you for proving my point. Battery powered, including this model, are trash. I've used this model with one of their better batteries. We have St. Augustine grass in Texas. The blades are thick, these battery-powered types can't hack it for a significant amount of time.

I also find battery-powered chainsaws to be incredibly lackluster, but automotive tools, leaf blowers, weed whackers, are generally pretty good.

I have a really nice Honda Gas mower that would eat this thing for lunch, so I'm still on the gas side of this argument, but I do find it funny how poorly you understand kentucky blue grass. It has thin individual blades but it can grow extremely thick and fast. My lawn grows a good three or more inches per week and can bog down even my powerful gas mower.

4 yr mower and 8 yr. battery warranty if you buy Greenworks 80v at Costco. Also you can return it anytime! As far as performance, it was great for me. I mowed my yard a couple days ago and it was just fine. The self propel function is a bit weird with a pause before moving, but otherwise a great mower. My grass was like 12 inches high and no problem. You get a side mulcher also. Definitely recommend!

Depends. My Costco has the most salty and sour return ladies ever. They take pride in doing account reviews for anything returned over 18 months from purchase. I have yet to be defeated but it's getting annoying af

I know Honda gas mowers are great….. and also expensive… and also maintenance. I have the EGO POWER+ 21" Select Cut XP Self-Propelled Mower that delivers 8.3 foot-pounds of torque. I guarantee I paid less than you did for your Honda. I have roughly 1 acre of land to mow with it being tall fescue. We have a lot of rain during mowing season and MY EGO eats everything I throw at it. I've even come back from vacation where my lawn wasn't cut for 2 weeks and I broke the rules by cutting off too much grass and it still kicked ass. This thing is so easy to use and there's no having to run and grab gasoline. The only lawn tool I still use gasoline for is my backpack blower since there isn't anything electric that can compare for the amount of time I'm using my blower. I get that everyone wants to be Tim the tool man Taylor with wanting the biggest and baddest, but the truth is that ego fits the bill for a majority of homeowners. With that being said, If you run a lawn mowing business…. Go gas. If you have a few acres…… you're probably getting a riding lawnmower anyway. These Ego mowers are a game changer especially when you find alternative ways to power your batteries between mowing. Electric is the future and gas has its place and will alway have its place…. But as far as walk behind and/or self propelled mowers…. Electric makes more sense…… period!

I bought my honda 7 years ago for $680. Since then I probably spend around $20 a year on gas. I've changed the oil, air filter, and spark plug twice.

By now if I'd had a battery mower I would probably have needed to buy a new battery at least once, for more than all the maintenance I've done on my mower.

It's worth pointing out that back when I bought my Honda Ego wasn't well known yet and they hadn't been in the mower game long. At that time their 21" mower was $600 with one battery and I definitely would need two for my yard. So it actually would have been more expensive than my Honda.

At this point it doesn't make sense to replace a perfectly functional mower that still runs like it's brand new.

I'm not against people getting Ego mowers, and I'll probably get one someday.

All of my other lawn equipment is Ego.

One week growth of Kentucky Blue Grass != anything close to the stress St Augustine puts on a mower. When I lived in the North, my Greenworks was able to handle 1/4 acre just fine on two batteries (which were small).
