Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...
scroll down to Port your Google Voice number out to another carrier

When I received my iPhone 12 last week I went on the order-tracking section of Metro's website and activated the phone. I just received the "Ready, Set, Activate" email from Metro today (about a week after I activated) and it's telling me to activate. Should I click the link in the email and activate it again, or just delete the email?

I got this email as well. Seems like some generic email sent after x days. Mines are all activated already.

Has the S23FE came back in stock online once at all? It seems like the only phone never in stock.

It hasn't been in stock for 4 months. Don't get your hopes up. It's the holy grail of Metro deals.

If your phone can make calls/texts, it's already activated. No needs to do it again.

I think Metro is keeping inventory artificialy low on the best phones so people will be forced to go inside a Metro store aka "den of thieves" and get ripped off hard. I want to get the s23fe and surprise surprise "sold out" lol yeah sure
S23FE did back online for 20 more days between Feb.6 ~ Feb.26, the "new number" price raised from $99 to $199, port-in price keeps the same for $49.

Not sure, but I believe Metro has a few days of grace period? Other more experienced will chime in. My Total phone arrived quickly though. Ordered Feb 6 and arrived Feb 9.
When you bought from Total, how long did it take to get verified? Is it instantly or within minutes. I tried several browsers and nothin happens after like 10 minutes. Keeps circling.

This sh!t again? I've lost track of how many Metro "deals" I've tried to purchase only to get notice that they couldn't complete the order. Utter garbage.

i got several worked fine. it's a bit annoying waiting 6 months. and be advised an unlocked carrier phone, often is less versatile than a true unlocked non carrier branded phone. but that gets extremely complex.

it seems like the deals are getting worse tho, they noticed people abusing them.

the n30 is still a good deal imo, even though it's rocking the exact same sd695 chipset of it's older predecessor the n20. i'm not a fan of the moto stylus personally. i got that one for $15 already unlocked off a boost mobile deal a couple years ago iirc. didnt love it screen is dim lcd.

the n30 is lcd where the n20 was oled, big downgrade, but with lcd i have to see it in person theres a lot of quality variation, such as the stylus poor screen imo, whereas in my experience samsung always provides good lcd's. my guess is the n30 has a good lcd. it also has an upgrade from 6 to 8gb ram and has a 120hz panel iirc. which i was surprised how much the choppy 60 hz panel on the n20 bothered me.

so yeah for me i'd focus on the n30. since phone deals are few and far between nowdays i might pick one up. 40 is a good price sweet spot for a mid range, since i often get flagships for the 200 range (just got a 8/128 12r for 194 including tax with trading in one of these very metro phones from the past) it's not worth a lot more.

but yeah i got the samsung a13 and the n20 from previous deals. i traded the a13 for 220 tiv with one plus. still have the n20 as my backup phone in a drawer. although right before i switched to my 12r, calls had mysteriously stopped working (everything else was ok afaik). not sure if it was a conflict with my carrier visible dropping bands, or a temporary issue.

This means your porting into metro is not complete . Calling metro's porting department will solve this in 30 mins
So bizarre...ported GV number into Metro on Mar 7, activated online Mar 9 after receiving the email from them while the phone was being shipped. Phone arrived, put in SIM card, shows LTE service, no calls in/out, no SMS so can't receive OTP. Google Voice number is still active, receiving SMS normally with only the "Delete" option showing. Contacted Metro port department twice, first time rep and supervisor insisted I go to the store - I said no way. Second attempt the rep (very helpful BTW) said she had to check the port status on the back-end and said GV reported the line is scheduled to be ported on APRIL 8. WTF??

edit: after about a 20 minute wait, she was able to get the 'backend' support to talk to Google and release my GV number to finalize the port-in. I guess best approach for GV porters is to keep trying if denied

Yeah mine is

It's actually better with a smaller screen for Razr because it won't drain your battery, which is the biggest complain among Razr + owners. Small screen is sufficient to check what (if any) incoming messages/emails you might have and decide if you want to actually check them (or just to check weather, temp, date, time, etc.
Yeah, but if your wanting an iphone and not an android, this Iphone 12 deal is the best you can get anywhere. I had mine for 2 days and it does wireless charging and appears to be similar to the 15 with worse specs. I dont use phones for gaming, so its not really noticeable to me. I also got the galaxy A54 deal this past summer and mine is currently unlocked as my main phone. The S23fe was more money 6 months ago, so in a way I am glad I missed out on that deal back then. The A54 has a SD card slot, which is an advantage if you swap music and videos between devices. Overall the A54 is a great phone. I also just got the Iphone 12 and in 6 months I can make a decision which phone I would like to use myself or give it away to another family member.

Also, its interesting to note that my phone number is still linked to google voice. Any incoming calls I receive go to GV and not to my iphone. Yet all text messages go to my iphone and I can make outgoing calls.

That's odd re GV. FYI, Razr does wireless charging too. For some reason, all comparison sites omit this info for Razr when being compared to iPhones. I wondered if those publishers were being paid by Apple to make a biased review because there were features that Razr also had other than wireless charging that were left blank, leaving Razr at a much lower review score. Anyhow, in general, iPhone vs Android is just a matter of preference. I'm a geek and like to have full control and ownership over my device, so I prefer Android, but I know most people would rather not have to think about controlling every aspect of their phone.

Anyone used "text free" app number to port in to get iphone 12 deal ?
I am seeing it is accepting number and giving $99 deal for iphone 12.
Only issue I see is account number and PIN.
Anyone has idea on it ?
Metro is letting me to order phone ,does not matter what account number ,PIN I use so is it necessory to activate number after receiving the metro phone ? If I dont activate then phone wont unlock after 6 months ?

be advised an unlocked carrier phone, often is less versatile than a true unlocked non carrier branded phone. but that gets extremely complex.
I haven't heard of this before. I see you noted that it's complex, but do you know of any resources that talk about this in more detail? Googling for info just gets me a bunch of articles about locked vs. unlocked phones, which all talk about the same thing (differences in prices, etc.) and are useless.
