New wording for Metro unlock policy:
https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy
"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:
The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."
Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...

Not true, see above.. you missed !
Did your GV number port completely? Just like others, I can't receive incoming calls on Razr 2023, but outgoing calls are working and OTP as well.

I'm willing to bet there is something wrong with the Porting of Metro and GV. I've ported GV to many other providers AT&T, Xfinity etc. It's NEVER taken more than 2 days.
The thing that worries me is that the plan is going to expire and if we don't renew it, the number won't fully port to Metro. And this would be ENOUGH for Metro to deny the unlock at 6 months.

Now Metro wants to play dirty, which they can deny, and they won't receive so many orders in the future.
somebody here knows better probably as this is where i learned it from. but they dont always support all the features as the "true" original unlocked phones like volte, wifi calling etc on carriers other than their original one. i'm sure it depends on the specific carriers and other factors.
like if you get a phone by metro, once unlocked it may not work great on verizon. etc. this is just an example, i dont actually know. in addition they have some carrier specific software that may be completely non removable. i dont think you can get rid of the metro splash screen for example and perhaps some metro apps.

I don't care the phone number port in at all. Last time, it took two weeks got phone number ported in.

I have flashed the A54 with Samsung stock firmware, which removed all the metro junk and splash screen as well.
In fact, you install At&T, Tmobile, or Verizon on an unlocked A54. Everything is available on SamFw.

If Metro doesn't unlock it, I wil file a complaint with the FCC. I haven't had to file a complaint about Metro yet, but I've done it a few times when Tracfone didn't honor their Rewards promotions. The FCC will accept your case and forward it to the provider to respond. The providers/carriers take the complaints forwareded by the FCC seriously. Tracfone even has a dedicated Dept to respond to FCC complaints.

I guess there's just some issues going around which will get resolved.
