ATT return policy says, if you cancel with 3 days to waive the activation and 14 days to cancel the line. pick up in store to avoid activation fee. if you want to do the deal online you can get a Google voice/tello number and port it over. otherwise you can get a new number in store.

What do you think you shouldn't have activation fees?
The checkout page clearly indicates the activation fee will bill on your bill.
read the wiki, the activation fee can be easily resolved by clicking "Don't recognize this fee" without chatting to the rep

Thanks for reminding.

I clicked it and was told it's "all set" - the $35 will be credited back to my acct in 2-3 days. So I'll wait till then and chat back the remaining balance, depending on ti's credited back or not.

Again as I mentioned the wiki and numerous times here make sure you chat to make the bill to 0 or ~10 for prorated charges. Don't go by what CS is saying about the next bill etc. Your account should show a small amount due.

I canceled a day after the order, got a surprise bill today, reached out for credit and the rep asked me for the BestBuy order number. They said they needed to check if my cancellation was within 3 days of my order date. They said they couldn't give me the credit for the bill otherwise and insisted on getting the order number. I exited the chat and will try again another day. That was weird.

My bill came in today for $106.36 for two lines so $53.18 each. I did the did not recognize fee/bill and I got a one time credit of $45. When I did it for the next line, I got denied. I guess I'll have to chat in and waive the rest of the activation fee for the next line or if I get lucky, all of the whole bill including other fees gets waived. My balance at of right now is: $61.36.

Edit: my remaining bill got waived through the chat. Tip: being kind but firm helps a lot.

Got a bill today for 48 and change
Had to call them up and inform them I cancelled within three days to get them to remove it. They're still charging my ~8 dollars for partial plan and govt taxes.
I cancelled before my line was even active so I dunno why Im being charged anything but whatever. 8 bucks for a phone isn't bad

picked up my phone a week ago, cancelled service same day. received a $50+ bill today from ATT. got on chat, took about 30 minutes, but eventually managed to get them to credit it down to $0 immediately.

expecting that to be the final nail in the coffin!

don't even bother. get on chat and tell them to credit it immediately since you never had active service. ask for supervisor approval if needed.

Me either. The letter I got was not a bill it was talking about my credit score. Almost wish I had got two phones instead of one. I gave the phone to my mom.
