I got the same error and figured out how to get around it. Don't use the links above. Login to Metro with your phone line and PIN. Then, go to Phones & devices >> Tablets & devices. I was then able to select the Samsung tablet and added a line and paid $20. Hope this helps you out.

I don't really see where this is slower than everything else Android I've used. Then again, I'm not obsessed with speed. Tablet works fine out of the box for me.

You need to go online and check your account to activate it or simply call them and they will activate that for you.

Why is this so slow - it reminds me of the HP touchpad and Nexus days. How is Samsung selling such slow CPU and memory performance in 2024? The tablet is hardly usable except maybe as a picture frame and the occasional youtube video, which needs patience as well.

The option is called "reduce transparency and blue" so when you turn that on then you are lowering/disabling it
Actually it's "transparency and blur" - made more sense when I saw it in the setting itself

So, still not my fault I read the typo as it was written by assuming something that sounded like a blue light filter would be adding work to the tablet

I am not going to pay my phone line which needs a recharge by next week but I activated the tablet line today. Will my tablet line get deactivated when my phone line gets deactivated?

Too bad I don't know anybody with a metro account. For $20 I'd get one but not for $60.

This is a low end 2021 tablet, already awfully slow back then

It's painfully slow but I was able to watch videos on it just fine; in my case youtube and HBO Max. As well as streaming PSPlay with a wired controller. It's a bad tablet but not THAT bad that it's only a browser or picture frame etc…

That said I got an Alldocube iPlay50 Mini from Amazon just today ($69 lightning deal) and performance is night and day better than this Samsung. plan to return the Samsung and keep the iPlay mini
You mean Metro will refund 20 monthly service charge when you return

no, they won't refund $20, might as well keep the tablet now.

How bad's the bloatware?
There is no bloatware. I did not use the sim to activate so no Metro garbage. This is so much better than Fire HD8. Folks saying that it's not worth the $20 are delusional.

Did anybody try to reinstall original stock SM-T227U TMK firmware with Odin. Will it unlock to other carriers?

Got mine yesterday and activated today. I got the $40 moto stylus 5g deal and I won't renew (still have 9 days of service). Two questions:
1- can I just keep the tablet on MetroPCS and pay $20 every month even if I don't have a phone line with them?
2- will the tablet unlock after 180days?

I understand the phone will unlock after 180days without paying a monthly bill.
Thanks.

What happens if I buy one of these secondhand that was never activated? Can I activate it with a metro sim? If so, do the 180 days start now?
