I've been using one like this (without the audio jack and SD card slot) for work for several years and it has been rock solid.

Bought something similar a couple months ago because I lost hdmi on my computer. Worked great for hdmi, but I was pretty disappointed to find out the one usb-c it had was for pd power-in only and I couldn't plug in my new usb-c camera to it. Make sure this isn't power only if you need another usb-c port on your computer.

I used this last fall to play locally stored movies (two days of rain limited our outdoor activities) from an iPhone 15 pro thru the hdmi port to a tv at a cabin with no internet. Had no issues.
