Didn't have this one. Had the 310. Took a while before I realize that if you turn off the propane at the tank, it will trip the safety and it would only output like 20% power. You'd have to reset it by detaching the hose and waiting fifteen minutes. I was trying to be extra safe by shutting it off at the tank every time and basically the grill thinks you ran out of gas and it tries to keep you from blowing up. This I definitely a feature and not a flaw. A lot of other gas grills are the same.
These Weber grills are really nice for the price. You can get cheaper grills that might have a higher BTU rating but the build quality is not the same. Webers generally have a thicker gauge steel and have better heat retention. The heat distribution is usually a lot better too. Some of the cheaper grills will have 5 burners but you'll notice that the flames would be hotter in a specific corner or only on one side.
I have the Weber 310 and I love it. I owned a charbroil prior and that ish was trash. Everything rusted and i barely got 2.5 years with it. My weber, still in fantastic shape. I will say I host often and sometimes I wish I had a bigger grill, with that in mind the 210 is pretty small if you were someone who hosts
Oh how I miss the days when the 2 burner Webers would go on sale for 199. I have a family of 4 and it is just right. My version of this grill goes back 5-6 years. I'm not a "grill master". Just a dad that likes to cook his family a good meal 5-6 times a month. Burgers, chicken steak and veggies are all evenly cooked and company worthy. Heat wise, I get it up to 500-550 pretty quickly to seer my steaks in the beginning.

Can anyone please comment if this is good for a big family? If not, which weber would you recommend? Thank you.

You can fit a dozen drumsticks and a rack of ribs on this if that helps. I am more into charcoal now but this little guy did the job

i'd say this would be good for a family of 4. a family of 6 would be pushing it depending on what you're making. if you are doing burgers, hotdogs, chicken breast, ect. you can make it work for a big group. if you're making large steaks, whole chickens, or other large items, you might want to look at the 3 burner or larger.

Yes. Last time Amazon had this on sale for about this price, I was able to get Home Depot to match.

Happen to remember the highest temps you were able to hit?

I have had this grill for over 3 years. And it has not rusted out like all before . I live in Florida and rust is part of life here. This grill still looks new just dirty. It heats up in about 10 min. To over 500 degrees on the gauge. I mostly use it for steaks. I have had to clean Burners. And they are still in working order. They usually rusted away by now. I always in the past went with the. 5 burner grills with side burners but I was using way too much propane. A full tank last a me a good while. A few months with a 10 min. heat up and 3 min. Eash side steaks . I hope this helps. I recommend.

I remember the first time I found out people were not buying grills every 1 to 2 years. Every year I got the cheapest Walmart gas grill for my birthday. When I told a coworker my grills rust he asked "don't you clean it", I did. Then he said he Weber didn't do this. I asked it he kept his inside, he didn't. So I looked for used grills found a weber that was 12 years old. It was in great shape. So I bought my own new Weber. 4 years later no rust. As mentioned the safety regulator is more aggressive. I used to turn on the burners before turning on the tank, this doesn't work on the Weber. It is suggested to turn on the tank and let the gas pressurize then turn on the burners. I made sure I got the stainless steel grates.I got the Spirit 2, it takes more room than my last 10+ grills but I will not go back to getting manufactured waste every year.

On my 210 all you have to do is make sure burners are completely off before turning the tank back on and it's good to go, no need to disconnect the hose. I still let it run out by turning tank off first it's just next time burners have to be off to build the pressure in the hose before turning them to light up position. Some local home depot learing out 200 series grates for $30 and seen also 300 series size on clearance at Lowes for around $50 but it's been like a month ago so I'm sure they sold them out mostly so big YMMV thing now. Agree on heat retention because walls are made of thicker alloy that seems to keep heat in and have no issue getting to over 400 in less than 10 minutes too. Make sure to check burners holes for any stuff that might limit the output like build up with small clean stainless or brass brush and it performs better than my previous stainless steel one. can't compare to green egg though for sure.
