The main thing I don't like is the fact that there's a whole mess of dangerous blades just under the top half. Be extremely careful when taking the top off to empty it or you'll likely get a finger sliced open. I feel they could have easily added a deeper plastic shroud or something around the blades.

I didn't actually mean to suggest there's a risk of it turning on randomly. It seems pretty safe in that regard.
But when I opened it the first time, I grabbed it right around and under the top and just barely escaped getting a nasty cut from the stationary blade. I've been careful since but it's definitely possible to get injured if you're not aware of how it's built like I was. Another commenter mentioned almost all shredders are like this but this is actually the first time I've purchased and used one.
I use a sheet with olive oil drizzled on it every few months.
