My neighbor hats the idea of a wifi-enabled sprinkler and has a manual rain bird that came w/the house. He knows about the deal as the city made it well known it existed.
.....I've avoided so many dumb days where rain has popped up and laugh at those who are watering their lawn during it.
Again, this may be the ULTIMATE YMMV but similar to how some municipalities offer free affairs that others don't...yours too may have one for a Rachio 3.

Yes I did check with my local municipality and they did not offer any rebates/discounts/incentives. I ended up finding someone on FB marketplace who was able to offer it for the price as in this post.

I wire it up which to their credit is super easy. Plug it in and... Nothing.
Power adapter is putting out ~33.6V which according to their docs is not in spec.
Probably going to return it for another brand altogether
