So there can be differences. Just because it fits, doesn't mean the same effectiveness.

I suppose a K&N drop-in air filter for your vehicle works just as well at filtering out contaminants as a high quality (for example) WIX filter? I mean, like you said, they both have the same dimensions. One is solid paper pleats, the other has holes large enough to see through. Definitely the same filtration, right? Or do I dare use the face mask analogy? Nah, you get the point.
Home depot is even cheaper $34.92 and $33.17 if you subscribe https://www.homedepot.c
Hmm. Didn't know rockets got sick.
Lol everyone who got bewb surgery is sick?
Are you sure it is HEPA? Not aware of HVAC filter that would meet HEPA requirements. Would cause issues for air handler fan motor.
This is what I buy and they have a $4 off coupon.
115115 Replacement Filters A for Winix PlasmaWave Air Purifier C535, 5300-2, 6300-2, 5300, 6300, AM90, P300, 2 True HEPA Size 21 Filter + 8 Activated Carbon Pre-Filters https://a.co/d/8AflE9g
Aftermarket third-party parts work just as well as brand recognized ones provided they are made with similar methods and materials, it's up to each individual third party seller to make a good product though. You lose the safety of knowing that it will work but that doesn't mean you aren't getting the same filtration provided you didn't buy junk from third-party.

I was replying to someone's question, not looking to get into a debate about a product on Amazon.

Um, I don't know what "slamdunk" you thought you had but you apparently missed the part where I said "K&N drop-in air filter." Those literally are the same dimensions as an OEM filter and use the stock air box. It is a perfect example because they both allegedly do the same exact task: filter contaminants out of the air for the engine. And just like you alleged yourself, "aftermarket third-party works just as well as brand recognized ones..."
So that being said, why don't you post efficiency numbers (be sure not to skip the micron rating) of both filters for the world to see and we'll see who's right here.
Keep in mind you are arguing with a former BITOG member, someone who enjoys splitting hairs and finding out the real truth & facts - especially when it comes to filtration.
Compatible with Winix air cleaner models 6300, P300, 5300, 5500, 5300-2, 6300-2, AM90, C909, 9800 and C535
I've been buying these for a few years for my three purifiers. I didn't really compare to the original, but they look to be quality.

Unless someone here has 1000% proof and verifiable evidence that OEM and 3rd party filters are identical, it's up to you to make that call for yourself and go with what ever you believe in. Till then, don't push your opinion of being right on others. ๐๐ป

Since I'm the only one who said the word "right" in this thread, I believe I am factually "right" that you are calling me out. To clarify, *I* was not pushing an opinion. I was just stating the obvious that another person's pushed opinion is factually wrong...and provided obvious examples of why. So the only thing I was pushing was the facts. There's a big difference.
I stick to real facts, and call out bs when I see it. That's why I'm a *former* member. They couldn't handle the truth and preferred to protect erroneous claims from corporate & member sponsors.
