I found them in 2020 for $30 but those were better times for deals

No, just a meh price. Just an average price honestly, but you tag it as clearance and suddenly it gets the juices flowing.

No way new WD 8TB external drives were selling for $30.
Just be aware there's many Refurbs that constantly go on sale for much cheaper $/TB. Several threads about them.
Note: This drive *isn't* meant to play modern games on; mainly storage (description is referring to the previous console generation).
They were and I picked up 4 or 6 back then. I probably still have them in a box as I only used 1 for single player games 🤷
