Almost bought then realized it's the 12v right at the last second. Definitely don't need another battery line to worry about haha

Same 12V kills it for me, but more power to anyone still running them

I'd still rock the 20v over 18v anytime

To be honest, the fact that this battery charges in most Dewalt chargers and this is as powerful as the top of the line drivers on the "2" setting it's really not bad. That said M12 is still imho a far superior 12v tool line overall and I suffer through having 2 completely incompatible battery systems for it lol. If you're not doing automotive type work and want some compact tools these aren't bad, but a powerstack and atomic 20v tool isn't much bigger for most jobs. If you don't have an impact and need one for occasional use this is probably fine, but you can get a DCF850/845 bare tool for around 75 on deals which aren't much bigger and are the new "top of the line" 20v drivers and 887s (the previous top of the line but larger body driver) I think are even cheaper now.

Dewalt is still developing their 12v line - your comment implies it's dead or something. There are some downsides (tool coverage) but for some use cases (most homeowners) 12v is a better fit. It's typically more than powerful enough and lighter and more compact.

It's a great unit and line for smaller home improvement project. We bought my son the 12v drill and I actually find myself grabbing it more for smaller projects due to the smaller frame and lighter weight. For 2 batteries and the driver, this will be a good gift to add to his collection. I'll be in for one.

Same here, have the 887 and 850, still grab this I'm unless I absolutely need the power of the 20v tools. This one is just feels better.

I've purchased most of the 12v line since, the screwdriver is amazing too.

The 12v battery works on the 20v charger, so basically the same battery line if you've already invested in the 20v line

Echoing others about small size and weight being a plus. Small battery helps. I find I use my small tools more. Hammers, tape measures, impacts, anything light is just leagues better in real use.

I have the 20v stubby 1/4" DeWalt, this one, and the 12v Milwaukee fuel one. I always go for this one due to the fact that it's lighter the LEDs are brighter than the rest due to the halo ring up front, and it just feels great in the hand. No offense to the Milwaukee one but it feels like I'm holding a dong with it.
