$1/bag? The best I've seen in recent years is $2/bag and it comes once a year at both stores.

its not on sale yet in so, Conn, but even if it hit this price, it will be 25% more than last years sale price! NO covid now or last years and as bad as inflation is, i dont know of anywhere where it was 25% in one year--Im going to do a hard pass on this and put the money into a greener lawn--the more we keep buying at these over inflated prices the more the will keep raising them, and then when people finnaly stop, they will cut the price by 120% and make the public think that its a big deal

Free but crapshoot. you're not getting bog box store type mulch with either of these, you're probably getting coarsely ground assorted vegitation.

No luck at my Lowes in the NY/NJ areas. We had it last year so I'll wait until April.

Not arguing with you but these are highly YMMV. They are sourced regionally, so it might suck in one area and 10 miles away they are fine. It's not like Lowe's or HD hauls bagged mulch from one plant to every corner of the nation.

This comes out to be about $34 per cubic yard. Last year, and for many years before that, it was $2 a bag or $27 a cubic yard. If I buy in bulk around me I can get it delivered for about $30 a yard. If you are buying a LOT of bags (13.5 bags in a yard), it may pay to call around before assuming this is the play
Yep, I can get it locally delivered in bulk for $30/yard, but that's either a large pile or in the back of the truck. I'd prefer to pay a few extra dollars to easily move the bags to all my gardens

Solid deal for both.

Best 3 out there:

1. HD scotts
2. Lowes scotts
3. lowes premium

I have gone to realize that region dictates these things. In So Cal, they are perfectly fine.

They have various sales throughout the season. I've seen 3/$10; 4/$10; and 5/$10.

Yes it will probably be cheaper in a month or 3. Up to you if it's worth waiting or not over 50 cents a bag.

It probably varies by store, but ask if they have any ripped bags. They usually sell those at a steep discount.
They have been consistently $2 for 10 years. I think this year is the first time you won't see $2 mulch. And why should you? This stuff is absolutely worth $2.50.

Exactly. My local nursery has it for $32/yard, although they have a 3 yard minimum for free delivery.

Well at least its 2 ft2. Scotts going to 1.5 is too much of a drop, and I wont buy. This brand will often have white mold on it as well...
