That's odd.... three? "Why three? " you ask. Because of Logitech's absolutely abysmal reliability. There is a very well know issue with this mouse's clicker switches. Search google for "mx vertical drag" or "mx vertical microswitch". There's actually a mini-industry of people providing the service of replacing this (and others, as well) mouse's switches once they inevitably fail.
But it's still my all time favorite mouse. I finally had to draw a line and stop buying them on principle. I'm currently using their other vertical mouse, the "Lift". It's ok. The vertical MX Vertical was much, much more comfortable for me with my big hands. Oh well.
If you do buy this, get the amazon extended warranty. I promise you that YOU WILL USE IT. Fair warning provided....

Not really. If you think about it, our interactions with modern smartphones mostly take place through our thumb movements. That is way more use than rolling a trackball mouse when you need it.

i bought one just for the heck of it after reading your comment, because it does look like it address the issues i have with MX vertical series (the pinky finger rub against desk surface).
I have on my desk, the MX vertical, the MX Lift, MX Ergo, Masters 2/3, and this nulea brand. i felt like the nulea combined the best part of the MX vertical and Lift for larger hands.
obviously there are down sides such as it doesn't glide as effortlessly as logi, the tracking seem to be not as refined, no Bluetooth, and no customize buttons, but at least they included a metal scrolling wheel.
didn't really expected much out of 25 dollars, but I am quite impressed after one day of use, just wish they could increase the size of Teflon tap, and add bluetooth.
after trying out this.. i am not sure i will ever pay 3 to 4 times the premium for logi

The images on Amazon state it's for Small to Medium hands. Are you saying it's better than the MX Vertical for Large hands?
For me it is. It is slightly larger and wider than MX vertical (due to pinky finger and ring finger support), it also curves like the MX LIFT, which fit better in my hand. Unfortunately the M520 is out of stock, and i didn't know M510 only work with USB A adapter (which my laptop doens't have USB A ports unless i want to bring a dongle), which means i have to return the product.
I will wait for the M520 if they comes back, but i certainly don't think logi worth the extra.
I wish they'd update this version to use the new Bolt platform + improving the scroll wheel. Love the ergonomics of this, but it seems outdated vs the rest of their mice.
What benefits does the Bolt receiver have?

Adding another data point. Had mine for 4 years with zero issues

the M510 is a battery version without bluetooth and only works with usb dongle.
the M502 is internal battery with bluetooth and usb dongle for total of 3 devices. i guess they don't sell it no more. but you can find items on ebay or alike
