If it is half decent the battery goes for years. It is much easier to read and takes the guessing out of trying to figure out which line the pointer is on. I mainly use mine for designing stuff for 3D printing and it is much easier and quicker.
Get a half decent stainless steel one and you'll still have your analog if the battery dies. You'll find yourself reaching for the electronic one way more.

I have a pair that I use to measure stuff that old and american, fractions to the 100th can be decimals, either works. Both are hard to pull off with a tape measure.
Something like this is fine for say 3d printing projects. Ive got some pre covid harbor freight calipers I use all the time for basic projects.
