This is a tepid deal.

I picked up the Hisense AX Series 5.1.2 Ch 420W Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer, Wireless Rear Speakers, and Dolby Atmos (AX5120G, 2023 Model) for $129 during black Friday at Walmart.

My Vizio was great for a few years then just died the other day. That's why I'm here
Same here, except I had 4 vizios soundbars and 2 of their TVs take dumps on me. This brand doesn't seem to be much better; had two of their TVs crap out on me recently. Yamaha sound bars are solid.

Vizio was recently bought by Walmart, which says everything about where they are as a brand.

Comparing HiSense to them just shows a lack of understanding and unfamiliarity with the brand. The panels in their top end TVs are also used by Samsung, LG, and Sony, while their budget line is only contending with TCL currently.

Chances are your TVs stopped working due to a swelled capacitor, which is something that happens regardless of brand.

There's higher quality capacitors than others, but at the end of the day, all of them are consumable parts that eventually go bad.

Luckily, they cost under $1 each and take very little effort to replace.

Some people like to do down vote for no reason. If a comments with down votes with no obvious reason, I usually would give it an up vote to balance it. Smilie

Yes, one of them had what seemed like a power supply issue (wouldn't power on) but why mess with it if it was under warranty. The other was stuck in a bootloop with no way of fixing/factory reset or anything along those lines. An no, never had a "swelled capacitor" on any of my names brand TVs like Sonys so try again. These are cheap throw away electronics (horrible for the environment because most people aren't going to repair them and even when you return them they still probably go right in a dumpster).

Edit: And what does Walmart acquiring Vizio have a single thing to do with what I said? Think I'll be waiting a very long time for you to reply on that one. So many shills on this site now.

the 5.1.2 hisense is 249 at wal mart all the time. i'd spend the little extra.

also ditto on the vizio atmos soundbars being awful with bugs, at least the older ones. i want to throw mine in the trash. it does not reliably turn on with the tv, randomly cuts out etc. they stopped updating the fw yrs ago, thieves, so theres no hope of improvement.

Probably because it comes off like you're flexing with your 100" tv...and asking about putting a $160 sound bar with a tiny sub on it. Like Kanye said: "win the Superbowl and drive off in a Hyundai..."

If you have a 100" tv or projector, you should sit 10'-15' from it. And if your tv is that big, why would you want to cheap out on the sound experience? You should be looking at a system with 7 or 9 speakers, and 1 or 2 "Neighbors Call the Cops On You" subs, to truly appreciate your tv. And look for a quality brand of speakers like Klipsch (for example). It won't be cheap, but if you watch something like Jurassic Park, or play Call of Duty on it...it's worth every penny. Smilie

Nope. Not a flex. Was just stating a fact. Recently got it via a deal on here right around Super Bowl, it was a fairly large deal and had assumed it was common knowledge. So, yea, like I said, never had a 100" before and was just genuinely curious about this, as I hadn't come across it before. Site has gotten kinda ridiculous, everyone reads into everything and finds something wrong or offensive. Was just a question, nothing more. Not that deep.
