All the additives had their issues, and none met the claims they all say they do.
Their tests were very controlled and if I recall only focused on the top end of the engine - not other parts of the fuel system or injectors???
BTW, been having the Christmas Tree of Lights issue on my Honda due to the injectors - I keep erasing the code with my BlueDriver app/OBD-II reader. Hoping Honda does the right thing and issues a warranty extension on them (as they did with the Honda Pilot a few years ago and their injector issues)...and I'm only 80k miles!;

You mean the same guys that said running 91 or 93 in modern vehicles makes no difference, based on a test ran on a 6.5hp Briggs lawn mower engine?
I guess they don't know what a knock sensor is or the difference between closed loop and open loop operation of obdII cars.

This isn't meant to be authoritative, but I know a very experienced Honda tech. He says they rarely do anything major to vehicles less than 5-6 years old, aside from precautionary recalls that don't produce symptoms in most cars, and most of their repair (non-maintenance) work is on high mileage vehicles and ones that have been badly neglected. I do own a Honda but it's my first in a long time and is only up to 50k, and well maintained by me. I'm a big fan of Mazda reliability though - we've had a ton in the family and they've only every needed routine maintenance, without exception (not counting my RX-7's back in the day, of course).
I think coming from an all-time reliable platform like the b series, k series, anything Honda did to their 4-cyl lineup was going to decrease reliability at the sacrifice of new innovation. Honda is great. They're going to figure it out. Maybe a refresh of the new turbo engines is in order, but I agree, I'd temper "Honda is going downhill" with some perspective on where they stand in relation to other manufacturers. I've only owned 1 honda, a j-series motor, and its been great. no complaints other than honda transmissions fpr their 6-cyl engines arent the best.

These engines are known to carbon up because of direct injection.
It has no effect on valve carbon buildup, gas doesn't wash the back of valves and has no access to it , this is "GDI". Oil vapors do apparently, so some oils claim to help, but this particular product has no effect

He speaks #FACTS, I work in the auto industry and Honda's build quality has been pretty shitty. Panel gaps are terrible, almost as bad as Tesla!
