Link for reference only. I purchased this Dishwasher on 4/3 based on a thread started here for the price of $848. I went in-store this morning and noticed that the price (In-Store Only) is now $749. I immediately went to CS and cancelled my order and re-ordered at the lower price. Attached a photo of the deal and looks to be good until 4/24.

I bought this last year. it's a weird dishwasher, my 10yr old one was better.
Seems made for plates, bowls don't fit right.
And the washer is finicky, you have to be careful to not block certain areas.
Doesn't clean as well as my old one either which is crazy. But it is quiet, can't tell its running unless right next to it.

Regret my purchase.
Inflation sucks, I bought a 800 series for $599 pre-pandemic
Seems hard to believe a ten year old model is better than this very highly rated model. I have this dishwasher and it's excellent.

Quote from miserly :
....So there is a difference between 44Db and 42Db. The DW is still quiet so we can talk next to it while it is running. However, the Whirlpool was barely perceptible whereas this one is definitely perceptible.
Sound is rated on a log scale so about every 3 dB is equal to almost double the sound power.

That being said, "The Yoz" is probably correct since sound transmission is extremely complicated and when you publish a general "42 dB" number, that's an average that is missing so much info, like how it was measured, which frequencies were louder, etc.

Some units with a 42 might outperform a unit with a 39 if the kitchen has wood floors, but those same units would be significantly "louder" with tile floors.

Unfortunately, comparing close numbers is almost impossible.

When I used to be in an office, I worked in a building that won tons of green awards. EVERYONE had to flush those stupid toilets multiple times. Funny thing was, with so little water being used they had to rely on serious pressure and your backside would always get doused. We had water free urinals (never a good idea), the automatic faucets would do that thing where they turn on for half a second, like anyone in the history of indoor plumbing would ever want or need half a second of water. The automatic soap dispensers wouldn't let you rinse your hands, they would keep shooting more soap onto them. It was all, sadly, quite comical. Sorry, you struck a nerve there LOL
I laughed at this!

I have been having discussions against this crap with young architects/engineers in the building industry for many, many years, but "they read an article..." or say "you are obviously not interested in saving the planet...".

Academia is failing us.

BTW, you left out motion detectors for the bathroom lights that don't detect movement in the stalls and lots of other ones!

I had some trouble getting this deal. First store I went to was completely clueless and argued with me about how something could not be a different price in store than online.

I clicked around stores looking for one that had a unit in stock. None of them claim to have stock online but I did find a store that said "On Display" right about the color selection. Went to that store and it was in fact on display and they were aware of the deal. Other Bosch dishwashers have instore pricing as well. Ended up buying this 500 series and a 800series panel ready for the projects I have going. The total discount was around $600 between them.

Home Depot also has a $300 off of ~$1898 deal that says it doesnt apply to Bosch's top of the line Benchmark series. Turns out that is wrong and it doesnt apply to any Bosch appliances.

I have a Bosch, bought last year because wife insisted. Because of stupid Bosch hype.

GOOD:
- quiet. That's it.

BAD:
- mediocre washing performance
- doesn't dry.
- the trays layout is garbage.
- the whole thing is superbendy flimsy plasticky, was very hard to install, kept bowing everywhere, has zero structural rigidity. We had to very gently, feather screw it, so it would close properly. Never had such a trouble installing a dishwasher.

We moved out of the house that has a Samsung. That thing was loud but washed and dry everything properly.

The noise is irrelevant unless you sleep in the kitchen.

Wouldn't buy again.

It should. If it doesn't it's not properly installed. We had the same problem, took a while to get it to click properly.

Sounds like you got a lemon? Was it like that from the start? Or did it take a while to start showing those negatives?

Do you have to push the door all the way until the click when you close it? I have seen video on YouTube where people's doors just close by themselves without that push all the way. Mine doesn't do that.

Pretty normal actually. New appliances in general are not as reliable, well made and effective as their older counterparts.

No it was like that. It's not a lemon. It's just structurally too soft. You screw one side in - it bends to that side and gets out of square. You screw the other - same. Same with top iirc. My appliance installer was about to lose it until he finally balanced it out. At some point I suggested aborting it and returning the POS to the store. He persisted (probably "installer's pride") and got it done.

I let it close itself, I don't have to push. Whenever it was out of balance/out of square it wouldn't latch. Once it got balanced that door would latch. It doesn't make a loud click but you do know when it's closed properly, it's kind of a dull "hoompt!". Again, it doesn't solid clear click of normal dishwasher, it has a limp/soft kind of click.

Did the installer solve this issue by adjusting the front legs only? My front door is leveled. I wonder how precise the leveling needs to be.

I don't remember him doing much with legs. The problem was screwing the dw into side cabinets and countertop and keeping it in square. Seemed like even the hair bit of too much would cause both other sides to go convex.

The racks on these Bosch dishwashers are terrible. I have had mine for a year and we've not figured out how to load anything but cups and plates.

He mounted the dw both to sides and to the countertop? I thought it was either one or the other.
