Seems like a great deal - even if this price comes up regularly. A better value than Asus G14 or HP Omen transcend for a 14in OLED gaming laptop

Is it really that cut and dry? I've been spending the last few days reading, and it seems like there's a fair bit of criticism being critical of the heat/build of the G14 and the lack of configurability/upgradability on the Slim.

Both also seem like good solid laptops though.

I bought this laptop a few weeks back when it was this price. It's pretty amazing. The screen is incredible and it's handled all of the games I've thrown at it like Madden 24, Teardown and BeamNG.drive. It's also compact and light. If you're looking to game a lot on it, it will need to plugged into the AC power to allow it to run in "performance mode". Gaming on battery is OK, but don't expect to get more than an hour or so out it then. It takes a lot to keep the internals cool when using the dedicate dGPU.

Yes but my point is for an OLED laptop of this size the Omen or Asus are going to be $200-500 more for comparable specs even on sale - they all seem to be fairly similar in performance and upgrade ability so this seems unbeatable at this price.

I've had mine for a few months now and it's been excellent. My only complaint is that charging via USB-C is virtually non-existent, I miss that feature from my old Asus Zephyrus Ryzen laptop. Otherwise, highly recommended.

I got this laptop and it was DOA on the 2nd boot. Had to return it for a refund. I didn't expect it from a Lenovo product since my Lenovo work laptop ran 24/7 for the last 5 years.

If the laptop is off, you can charge it via *some* USB-C chargers. I have tried various 25w-100w chargers, some work randomly. So there techncially *is* USB-C charging, just under very specific circumstances. With my Ryzen 5000 series Asus Zephyrus, it would charge via USB-C with any wattage while the PC was on. There were a few times where I was caught on a work trip without my original laptop charger and being able to plug in a phone charger and get some battery life extension while using was a wonderful feature. I just negligently assumed that that was a feature in all Ryzen laptops 5000 series and up. Apparently it has something to do with the way the manufacturer implements it. It stays cooler and is less noisy than my Asus. Lenovo really has their cooling solutions well implemented.

I charge mine via USB-C 100w charger (when I'm not gaming) so not sure why yours doesn't…

Edit: never mind. You mentioned any wattage… eh. That's unrealistic anyways. You'll be draining more than charging if under 100w

I have also had trouble finding USB-C charging for this laptop especially while gaming. But it does charge via USB-C with a WD19 (or WD19S) 170 W docks.
