You're right. But write speeds up to 15x faster than USB 2.0 which is 53MB/s. so theoretical max of 53*15 which is 800 ish. https://www.westerndigi

it just says "speeds up to 150MB" and then has a small number, that number is called a footnote when you see these it means the marketing department is farking with facts. If you go to the end of the page and read the corresponding number you see:
"Read speeds up to 150MB" (that's where they get the up to 150MB bit) and write speed "up to 15x faster than standard usb 2.0 drives (4MB/s)" so, they're claiming a write speed of up to 60MB/s (which coincidentally *IS* the maximum theoretical bus speed of usb 2 @ 480Mbps making one curious where the 4MB/s comes from...) This is at the absolute maximum for the drive if everything is working perfectly in a controlled environment. It may well do that, but only for about the first gig or so then the speed drops like the proverbial stone. Reading wise speeds are perfectly fine, writing speed wise this is a dog, but it's functional. This is especially true if you're going to fill it once and then read from it a bunch (say for accessing media on a roku or the like.)
Hope that helps clear things up and comes in handy when you see these sort of claims in the future
Edit: you can also see the ~60MB max write speed in the review that talks about getting the faster drive (400MB/s reading one) despite ordering the slower one (specifically the writing speed portion of this test in the review https://m.media-amazon.com/images...SY250_

It's an annoying thing about thumb sticks, they don't really give you accurate information for filling it up (sustained writing)speeds but because of digital cameras (stand alone, dash, security, etc) SD cards will almost always list sustained write speeds.
Really though, it just depends on what you're going to use the device for if you're sharing media with friends it's easier to hand them a thumb drive then to trust they have a SD card reader even if the thumb drive is a third of the speed

Thx on the info.
