PERFECT farkING TIMING! Was about to buy used earlier. Thanks OP!
Perfect timing is right. I've been piecing together my home theater and needed a solid 9.2 receiver. Was contemplating this vs the RZ50. For my purposes the RZ50 is overkill and the 7100 is much less in price. Thanks OP! Purchased!

I can't comment on the floor standing but the sub (I have the RP-1400SW), bookshelf and center speakers are solid. I suppose everything for under $3k is a good setup.

Same! Glad I didn't buy the Pioneer LX305 a few weeks ago.

This is a screaming deal. If this is close to the RZ-50, which I think it is minus the pre-outs, this is the steal of the year so far.

20 watts & pre outs only real difference.
If not needed this is a much better buy!

Awesome price cuts lately. Makes me wonder what's to come in the next couple of years. Maybe this will be the way to introduce more mass market consumers into the world of HT and music.

Me too. The RZ-50. That's an amazing Amp though and only regret that I bought during the AVR scarcity back in early 2022 for $1200 and thought that was a great deal back then. However, I didn't hook it up till late 2023 sticking with my old Yamaha Avantage receiver thinking I was okay till I had time to hook up the Onkyo. When I finally did, oh man, I was really missing out all that time. The sound is so much crisper, clearer and with more body. I was always skeptical that an AVR would make such a difference but in this case it does, and I haven't even dialed it in as yet. I just added 2 more Atmos speakers to my existing 5.2.2 to make it a 5.2.4 but added so much more life to my front 3 speakers as well. I suspect, based on the specs of this 7100, it would have done the same at now half the price.

For those who can take advantage of this deal I envy you, but I love my RZ-50, especially since I've now gone 11 channels using the pre-outs. Not sure if the extra 20 watts per channel really make that much of a difference.

It was most likely because of the much better RC(Dirac Live) which this has the same one.

BTW based on what you said you're only using 9 channels, sub(s) usually isn't included since it's often self powered.

I added two surrounds to make it a 7.2.4 system by using the RZ-50 pre-outs to add an external Amp to power the extra 2 channels.

As I said, still playing around with the system and now comparing what I have with Samsung's Q990C 22 speakers soundbar system and I must say the Samsung is coming close to this Onkyo powered Klipsch Reference Premier system, especially at the recent Slickdeals $700 price. Not saying it matches a full AVR system, but at that price and mid to smaller size room, and wireless speakers, it does make you pause.

I have this with JBL studio speakers that go on sale. Lovely. I use direct audio. Feel like Dirac lowers bass
