The SE has a substantially more powerful CPU and GPU. It gets better rural cellular reception.
Both have sub-par battery life. They're fairly close in that regard.
It's more compact, more durable back, and slightly longer update cycle (six more months of software updates).
You buy the P7 if you want a larger, higher refresh screen, and faster wireless charging.

There's healthy debate there. P7a has the same Tensor G2 as P7, but Google brought on another manufacturer.
In real world performance, they basically are the same chip. P7a could benchmark slightly lower, but it's the same stuff Apple does with same chip at different plants.
Pixel 7 and 7a have different cameras, but Google changed sensors during this cycle. There's healthy debate there too. The 7a has improved sensor distance, so in many cases 7a wins out surprisingly.
Bottom line is P7a is effectively intended to be a more compact P7 with a cheaper screen and back, and slower Qi. The extra six months of firmware probably counterbalance the very minor differences in CPU and camera quality.
