Agree on your statement. I bought mine a few days ago. Plastic is very thin, doesn't open smoothly.
Also to note, these do not turn on/off when you slide the top up and down, you must use the button that cycles through the lighting modes.
So far the reviews for this replica are crap and the reviews saying this is a cheap but solid light are for the replicas from Amazon.
