It's a good deal but there's something wrong with the OnePlus fully unlocked. I've had a OnePlus 8 since last year. When I went to Hong Kong last month, there was an issue with my OnePlus 8 model phone - my mobile network keeps restarting or automatically turning off.
It is not a link, you subscribe to Capital One shopping and maybe add their chrome extension and when you visit the any website, they present you with the offer. Last Year most of the folks here got $420 off for Lenovo Legion Pro Gaming laptop sold by BH Photo.
I haven't been lucky enough to see any savings from the Capital One shopping app on OnePlus, I have their cards too, bummer
Something like the ROG phone maybe. This is only one generation newer than the S22U (8gen2 vs 8gen1). You're probably better off waiting for a deal on the OP12, since it also has a better cooling system.
8 gen 1 is one of the worst SoC ever released made with samsung's terrible fab process. 8 gen 2 is a huge improvement in both performance and efficiency. even the 8+ gen 1 is a big improvement with the switch to TSMC
With no trade in? The $30 coupon stopped stacking mid march. The best it's been with any phone trade in is $350 with free buds. The screenshot with the $30 coupon was from March 6th.
I got the 16/256 for $340+tax and free buds by trading in my OnePlus 7 pro a month ago. The promotions, coupons, trade in and stacking is constantly changing.
You probably only got $90 extra (on top of the $100 trade-in any phone credit) to trade in your OP7P which IMHO is still a pretty capable device. did you feel it was worth doing?
The 12 is way faster. The 12R just doesn't cut it for me. There some brand new 12s for sale on eBay. I'm looking at one for 600, thinking about pulling the trigger just so I have another one.

You tried them both side by side? I haven't tried the 12 but I have tried the 12R(128&256). I've also used the OnePlus 11, pixel 8 pro, and Samsung S24 side by side and I like the 256GB 12R the most and sold all the others.
Oneplus has a fraction of the amount of employees and money that Samsung and Google do, I'm sure they have a few dedicated teams with a good amount of members strictly working on these updates you obsess over. However Oneplus's software team develops for the new phones as well maintains updates for previous ones. Those team members would also love to go home and be with their families each night and on weekends, while keeping their sanity . If thats at a cost of losing a few update obsessed weirdos, that's fine by them. These weirdos want to keep their devices as long as possible so they'll make a couple hundred bux off them once every 5-6 years. Why do that when the better biz decision is to continue to produce new devices with new tech to those who buy new every year or two and make 2-3x more than making the obsessed updaters happy. Not to mention the fact the updaters arent usually going for Flagships either, theyre concerned with getting the most paying the least. Not necessarily a group that gets much catering to. If your objective is to make lots of money, what's the course youd take? The world tends to make more sense when you take a moment to try on some shoes other than your own... Hopefully you can partake this naturally one day, on your own, instead of a suggestion from a stranger. GL
If OnePlus does not want to compete for users that want a mid-range phone they don't have to throw away quickly, that's OK. It's a business decision.
However, wanting that is not stealing Christmas and putting developers into forced labor camps. Most security updates come from Google developers, not OnePlus developers. And, those updates are already created for the similar 12 and would be very easy to port to the 12R.
Personally, I am not a power user. I want a phone that has a big screen, is trouble-free and works a long time. I hate migrating phones. Colossal waste of time. This is a major selling point for Google's 8-series and Samsung's S24 series with their 7 year life. But, I'm probably going with the newly released a34 when there's a slick deal on it - 5 years at a much lower price point.
