Camelcamelcamel says this is the lowest price in over 12 months. Good find.

Very tempting but Going to hold out for the next gen drills. For folks with physical locations this should be selling $99 per the April Flyer.

Do you have any insight into what's coming down the pike? I haven't heard anything new, and would be surprised if DeWalt introduced a new full-size hammer drill any time soon. Admittedly, the last major update was the DCD996 which was in around 2016 (the DCD999 and DCD998 are basically tweaked versions of the DCD996) and so it has been a while. However, the current premium drills are not falling far behind the competition (i.e., M18 Gen 4). My guess is that any upcoming innovations from DeWalt in their drill lines will come in the subcompact arena. However, that is all speculation, so any real insight would be good to hear.

DCD1007 is about to be released. It's shorter than the 996-999, but fatter. Probably going to be a lot more powerful.
I already have a 999, so I won't be getting it. If you haven't bought one yet, maybe it's worth the wait. 999 may get clearances sales too.

Good to know. Thanks!

I wonder if there will be an option to purchase wrist insurance!

I'm guessing a two foot long side handle.

I have seen videos of new impact driver/s and a subcompact. I have the 996 as a first drill from 2016. I wanted to "Upgrade" but to a 998 or 999 but found them to be pricey. I have since gotten a Metabo HPT and Ridgid High torque on clearance so no rush to get the latest and greatest from dewalt. I had this 999 in my cart but I guess it is sold out online for now.
