Do you NEED one unit that is 72"? In my observation, you pay a premium on square inches for having these larger sizes.

The 46" standard duty tool chests can be regularly found for around $500. On sale as low as $400. If you bought two of them and put them side by side (or back to back) you'd have more square inches of flat surface area as well as more cubic inches of storage. That's just one example. In term of price per square inch, the smaller units actually seem to be a better bang for the buck. Even for the heavy duty.

I also think this is probably just the beginning of deals on tool chests. I remember there were a lot of deals around Father's Day last year. I bought 4 of the 62" adjustable top heavy duty boxes last year for $698 each around Father's Day.

This deal is probably as good as it gets for this particular model, but I would anticipate other Husky models going on sale in the next few weeks/months.

Inflation is crazy, I bought a larger husky unit with a pegboard and top shelf and power distribution for just under 700 back in 2019.

Where you finding toolboxes deeper than 24" lol, that's pretty much the pro standard depth.

Was it a toolbox or a cabinet/workbench? I haven't seen much this big this cheap in a long time in an actual toolbox with this many drawers etc. Cabinet/workbench is a much different product and price bracket that I could see going that cheap.

I need a second opinion here. I've been in the market for a tool chest for a few months now and this is the best deal I've seen in a while. I'm no mechanic (and it's probably overkill for my home) but given the build quality and storage capacity, I'm tempted to jump on this deal and make the investment. It feels like most units now are around the $1k price range, not including those YMMV one-offs that are store specific. If I'm going to pay that much, I rather pay it towards an item that's been discounted than one that has not.

I've also considered the Trinity Pro 72" that was on sale a few weeks ago but ultimately decided against it for its finish and 19" depth drawers.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Last summer they had alot of these type units for half price and it didn't show on the website. I purchased
the "Tool Storage 62 in. W Heavy Duty Matte Black Mobile Workbench Cabinet with Adjustable Height Wood Top" that lists for $1198 for $598. If you don't need it right away you may want to wait a few months and see if they do that again?

No. Black Friday has been a disappointment with these the last several years.

How does this compare with Sam's Club option at $479:

Sam's Club's Seville Classics UltraHD box is a much more lightweight box (30 pounds per drawer vs. 100/200 pounds with the Husky Heavy Duty box), but it is a bit longer and not as deep. And it has a wood workbench top as opposed to a stainless steel top with the Husky. Likely it's a 21-gauge steel box vs. the Husky at 18 gauge.

Seems strange that Sam's would not list the steel gauge or the total capacity in cubic inches, so I'd guess it's aimed at an entry level audience.

There was a smaller one with wood for sale when I was clicking the different options in the app. Might be worth checking the other styles to see if any are on sale near you.

Generally no, toolbox sales are more likely at seasonal stock shifts and fathers day. I have a deal alert as you just never know when something might pop up.

So are the Masters models, but also very high list prices on those. I'm no pro but they seem a bit "I made it in this trade can't you tell from my toolbox" or "I'm rich welcome to my home garage with the best of the best". Almost surprised harbor freight didn't go after that in the ICON boxes except then you might not be able to fit them 3 across in a shipping container.
