interested in the same.. can someone please confirm if they can be used in porch lights
I've had one outside for six years. It's in a partially enclosed glass fixture (hangs downward, open on the bottom. It's under a porch, so it rarely gets wet, but it gets through Florida fog and hurricanes.

Mine are outside in weatherproof glass fixtures. Zero problems going on 5 years.
Agreed, five or six years for me and no issues.

Kind of important to note: If you scroll down on the Amazon listing you'll see there is a "newer" version of these, they call them "Tapo" instead of "Kasa". It uses a separate app for setup and management. You can integrate your Kasa bulbs into the Tapo infrastructure...however once you add Tapo stuff to your TP-Link account it will mess up all of your Google Home stuff. I had to go through and redo all of my custom actions because it started only controlling the new Tapo blubs.

Once I spent the time and went into Google Home and removed and reconfigured everything it's been fine...just know that I'm not sure how much longer you'll be able to get Kasa bulbs (I didn't look into whether or not it's actually a replacement or just another option from TP-Link) so worth knowing that even if you stay in-brand after these die, you'll have to redo a lot of Google Home stuff to get things back to normal just replacing one bulb.

I wonder with so many time wasting issues i will instead be better off with my good ol' dumb light bulbs.. lol

On TP-Link website it says they have no plans to discontinue in US, but who knows..

How does Tapo compare to Kasa, in your experience? Any decrease in quality in the newer bulb?
Seems pretty similar as far as I can tell. They are in the same space, just opposite ends of the room from each other, and I can't tell any color or lighting difference easily. I use Google Home to control everything and they respond the same now that I have them programmed in. Maybe there's a difference in the app for control but since I don't use it I'm honestly not sure.
