So I haven't done a true battery test, but the closest I got was web browsing while letting a game (Oldschool RuneScape) run in the background. Brightness was just under halfway, and refresh rate was 60hz. I got about 2.5hrs on that setup. I read some reviews claiming 8-9hrs on a true video only battery test.
TLDR: It should be really good for a windows machine non gaming.
I got this open box last week and it's great. Soldered RAM is a negative, but everything else about it is wonderful. Going to go back to the store today and see if I can get them to price match it down to the current open box pricing.

You can use BB chat to do price match, and FWIW, I have been successful in the past getting open-box purchases price matched.
Also, the benefits of soldered RAM is performance. It runs at a higher speed and latency is much lower due to the fact that the chips are soldered and not in a socket that can degrade or get dirty, etc.

Unfortunately they told me over chat and phone that they can't price match open box and that I would have to go in store. Either way, it's worth the hassle for $300

What kind of battery life are you seeing in non-gaming scenarios?

See this would all be great if they put a good amount, e.g. 32GB, instead of skimping out.

Soldered RAM offers no performance improvement over removable chips (assuming same RAM speeds).
