Thanks! Regret not getting last time. WiFi6 and faster WireGuard is what I'm most interested in.

I use it as a travel router in hotels. However, I find the process problematic when connecting to captive portals (hotels). There are instructions on the gl site. Then general idea is to connect the router to the hotel network and then have all your personal devices routed through the travel router.

I use this one: https://a.co/d/3UeD8IG

It's just as easy to connect to captive portals (hotels).

These are decent devices and do work fine on a cruise ship in my experience, though they won't have much range on a big metal ship.

Why is this model so expensive though? I think I paid 30-40 for mine - is WiFi6 that good?

1) usb-c
2) future proofing with more years of support/features with OpenWRT
3) thru put (WG or OVPN or TOR), with more powerful cpu

Other experience in my recent post on other Mango thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/17446569-gl-inet-gl-mt300n-v2-mango-portable-mini-travel-wireless-pocket-vpn-router-23-90-free-shipping-w-prime?p=170519466#post170519466

AXT1800 does much faster WireGuard than this unit - costs more though. Just FYI.

That one is outdated CPU and stuck in the past for ever .....
I'm pretty sure all devices are like that.

Nope, only GL-SF1200 has SiFlower CPU which is stuck in only one version openwrt v.18 forever.
Other GL-iNet such as MT-3000 has new CPU MT7981B supports openwrt v.23 and beyond...
Any thoughts on the Cudy TR3000 router linekd below that's around $55 with WiFi 6?

I just got that Cudy TR3000 to see if it is as good, but seems to be a more limited imitator. Has the exact same hardware but much less company support. No firmware update since August 2023, barely any documentation other than showing how to get to the initial setup. The interface is much more limited (not OpenWRT). Not clear whether hotel Captive Login works (one review says it doesn't) and it lacks Adguard Home (and DNS over TTL doesn't work, it requires IP addresses instead of URLs that those DNS services provide).

Can we flash it with GL firmware given exact same hardware?

According to some other people that have tried, no. See:
